I would assume that this is Obico. CP has declared the yard surplus, and with Greenwood being the future DRL yard, Line 2 needs a yard. Also, the area is industrial so no residential conflicts. With the Metrolinx Canpa sub being in proximity, future subway cars could be delivered via rail also.

Crazy idea here. With an extra 500 metres of track from Obico to the Queensway along the Canpa Sub, you could provide service there to help spur development.

Have seen longer lines than this one at 4 pm on a Sunday with barriers up to keep people in line and away from the platform edge. Expect to see it again very shortly.

Once we have Automatic Train Control on Line 1 running we need to install Platform Screen Doors at Union and Bloor stations. Maybe Dundas but definitely those two.

The other day a 510 pulled up and lots of people waiting for the 509 just waited on the platform, blocking people from getting on.
The streetcar departed with tons of space. Could be a contributing factor as to why the lines get so long.

Instead of trying to cram more people into Union we could increase service on other routes serving the waterfront/ferry dock taking them where they want to go. 6 Bay is on a 14 minute headway at weekends, 72 is on 18 minutes and there is no 97 service.

Has the TTC spoken about platform screen doors at all recently, the TTC tics all the boxes for installing them. Or at least gates
I still wonder if the redesigning of the TYSSE stations to remove the platform screen doors (but still have provision to add them later) costed more than it would have costed to have them installed in the first place as planned.

They really shouldn't run the 510 on QQ during weekends and times where people prefer the 509. Instead increase service on the 509. Oh yeah, TTC doesn't have enough new streetcars so they can't do that.

Absolutely.

The reason they were removed is because at the time they had abandoned the re-signalling project as unworkable (this is when they were trying to overlay 2 different systems so they wouldn't need to refit old work cars). There was a real risk of having the subway extension 100% complete and still be manually driving trains for several years.

We've seen that situation in London where a train takes 30 seconds per station to manually line-up the train doors with the platform doors; Jubilee line and it wasn't pretty.

As it turns out, TTC was able to restart the re-signalling project and complete it for that section (and only that section) on time.
