Toronto Spadina Subway Extension Emergency Exits | ?m | 1s | TTC | IBI Group

How to attract tourists to Toronto:

1. Have Rob Ford downgraded to standup comedian. He would do a very good job at promoting Toronto as a fun loving city. Have a rational person (regardless of political ideology) be mayor instead.

2. Install a giant paifang overlooking Spadina Avenue without blocking the view of the Old Knox College.

3. Sabotage other cities (well, Boston had been sabotaged already with the Boston Marathon bombings).

4. Build a giant casino in Woodbine that prohibits locals from entering.

5. Promote Guildwood Park for archaeological expeditions, since apparently not many major cities in North America have neo-Classical architectural ornaments strewn around atop a cliff.

Well, none of these will happen (except for the Boston part)

I really do not understand why American cable TV documentary series tend to be so sensationalized, from exaggerating Toronto's temperatures to "proving" the existence of extraterrestrials that visited us a few millennia ago.

What if some documentary portrays Los Angeles as being consistently being over 50 degrees Celsius outside?

Everything on American Cable is sensationalized. Why else would any of them watch the "History" channel.

Thank you so much for that image. It illustrates the perceived "veracity" of sensationalized documentary series on American cable television (which the rest of the world call mockumentaries).

Are we sure the mock/documentary in question is American?

The producer (Roeland Doust) is a Brit as is the star/geologist (Iain Stewart). The production company (Modus) appears to be based in Sainte-Therese (QC) but does have an office in LA. I suspect this is some sort of Canadian/British/American co-production and Toronto probably got featured as part of a cancon requirement.

I think America IS a mockumentary for various reasons, that does not disclude any other country. :p

Please don't bump threads. If there's news, it will be posted.
And yet no one had actually reported the April 26th update here.

Why would future news be posted, if past news wasn't?

And if reporting something that was new (to here at least), then surely that it's bumping.
