Still catching up with this thread (which has been on fire lately!). I found this while browsing on Twitter. My apologies if this has already been discussed.

Probably not connected to Ford in any meaningful way, but Sage Finestone a/k/a Sage Strasburg appears to be a tremendous conceited douchebag. He seems to have been deleting/locking his various social media accounts but I recall one (probably FB) indicating that he was from Brazil. I don't usually say this kind of thing but he should be deported. Almost no value to society.

Well, Rob talks a lot, but he's not so good on the actual work, as we know. Also, I'm wondering if he's absent because he has doctor's appointment. Sort of fits the timeline he and Doug gave the media re his scans and prognosis.

I would have assumed more from Robbie since he had to return all those contributions on account that he quit.

Not so. When you contribute to a candidate you take the risk that he or she will quit the race.

Refund of contributions

s69(1)(m), (n) of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996
If a candidate learns a contribution has been made or accepted in contravention of the Act, the candidate must return the contribution. If the contribution cannot be returned, the candidate must pay the amount to the Clerk.
A candidate is required to refund contributions when they are:

• received outside the campaign period
• from an anonymous contributor (except 'pass the hat' contributions)
• from ineligible sources (for example, individuals who do not live in Ontario)
• over the allowable contribution limit ($2,500 for mayoralty candidates and $750 for councillor or school trustee candidates) or the $5,000 contributor limit
• cash contributions over $25
• funds not belonging to the contributor

Candidates must reflect the refund in their records and on the financial statement.

I think he's so shallow and self serving that if he cant

Paging whatthe and our other legal friends on UT: What do you make of the proceedings so far at Lisi's drug trial? I've covered a few trials over the years and know they can be wandering affairs as the evidence is laid out. But this seems especially draggy. My take so far is that, since the quantities involved a the time of the arrests were small, the Crown is trying to establish that Bahrami was involved in dealing larger volumes. Does that sound right?
