BurlOak:

1) Stintz supports Transit City and has been playing political games for the past 2.5 years by adding uncertainty and delays to transit plans just to give the appearance that she wants to help Scarborough.

And what would you call someone who actually attempted to change established, funded projects for the past 2.5++ years, adding real cost, uncertainty and delays to transit projects (not just plans) just to give the appearance that he wants to help Scarborough (while being shown his so called "plans" are utterly without financial merit)? If you have trouble guessing who I am referring to, I can give you his name.

My conspiracy theory is that DecoLables is running drugs and laundering money in their packaging

It's going to have to be something like that or some massive corruption involving 'respected' taxpayers money. A sex scandal -- unless it was something particularly unsavoury -- would just make ford nation love him even more and half of them wouldn't even believe it in the first place. if you have the stomach read the comments on a ford story in the sun. It is nauseating.

New story you say? Bring it on guys

I think you're on to something here vox... some toothless pro' coughed up a stray pube belonging to his mayorship and submitted it as evidence for testing? Hmmm, the dots connect.

I have to say that as 'clever' as your comment was, it went out of it's way to be mean spirited towards those women who are involved in prostitution. Completely unnecessary and not in the spirit of Urban Toronto.

crass, bigoted, bellicose, belligerent, dishonest, ignorant, inarticulate, simpleminded, over-entitled, narcissistic, hypocritical, substance abusing, bullying, incompetent, half-witted fool

Funny, but up until the Rob Ford part you could have put in Smitherman's name.

As for laying charges.... if Rob Ford threw something at you, I bet you a lot of money that you would press charges. So don't be so quick to call others "hypocritical".

Smitherman may be a number of those things, but I don't think 'inarticulate' is something his detractors have ever accused him of being. As for the substance abuse part, he at least was upfront about that, to the media no less, and I say that as someone who wouldn't have voted for him in any case.

Either Deco is involved in trafficking and/or laundering, Rob and/or Doug were in the back pocket of organized crime pushing for a downtown casino, or involvement in Anthony Smith's death. Short of either of those, unless it's something way out of left field I can only see it being anti-climatic.

Or all of the above?? :)

I wouldn't be at all surprised to hear that Deco is involved somehow.

Heck, at this point, nothing would surprise me.

The only other thing would be that Towhey and others might actually be willing to go on the record, which I doubt (why now?), and even then, easily dismissed as disgruntled former employees.

The not-so-subtle intimation of other posters that there's an upcoming story about Ford's involvement with prostitutes doesn't rank. It's easily dismissed by people who either don't believe it or won't care. And it feeds into the narrative that he's being persecuted. Which frankly, I'd be more sympathetic to if this was the case.

Smoking crack isn't just "against the law". it shows a shocking lack of judgement and long term substance abuse can't help but affect your job performance.

So if Ford has paid for sex (which may not be strictly "illegal"), and there's no violence involved, I think it puts him in a different category of transgressor. First of all, I think it puts him in the company of many (unfortunately). Beyond that, I'd be more likely to see him as a sad guy with marital problems or intimacy issues than a criminal unfit for office.

Wow. Just... wow. You've established a new low. Tell us, Peepers - was he living in subsidized housing at the time, too?

Yeah. Here's part of the post that Peepers ran away with:

There's still a bunch of angry ideological, simple-minded, Sun reading right-wing types that still won't get over allegations that Jack Layton was found in a "rub and tug" massage parlour (facts on that one are murky) and living in public housing (which in that case is entirely unfair given it was a co-op, and they paid market rent). If they went after Layton over that, it would be amusing to see Ford Nation dance trying to explain Ford's behaviour if the basis of this new rumour ends up becoming the new story.

Like I predicted.

Dance. Amuse me more.

Either

1) Stintz supports Transit City and has been playing political games for the past 2.5 years by adding uncertainty and delays to transit plans just to give the appearance that she wants to help Scarborough.

2) Stintz wants a subway to Scarborough and has no skills to actually accomplish this.

I'm shocked, quite shocked!!!

I have to say there's something about Deco that has never quite added up for me. Here's a family business that supposedly makes millions (either with the help of, or in spite of, Rob's 5-hours-a-week accounting job) and enables Ford to serve as mayor while waiving the concomitant salary, and yet their products look like uncompetitive, poorly designed crap (their website as well) and I've yet to see anyone but the Ford organization use them.

Who works there? What do they really do?

As far as I know, Deco just does the printing of labels and materials, not the design work, which is typically done by others. It's a totally legitimate business.
