Fantasy Renderings

Building #13 - SLOHO - is going near Queen West & Soho -- on the Ultra douchebag club site.

It's designed to be as much like those "other guys" as possible. Because it's unlucky #13 :)

I've been messing around with this design for a few weeks now - a new stadium for the the Argos on the Lamport Stadium site.

It seats 31,000 (including 500 club seats at halfway line on the West Stand) and 25 luxury suites at the top of the West Stand.

And yes - it does fit on the site that Lamport stadium (and parking lot) currently sits - just about.

And as a nod to the old warehouses in the area (and I'm sure urbandreamer will appreciate) it's clad in red brick

UD, may i suggest you use Kerkythea. Not only is it free, you can create much better renders.

This is a render with no settings other than applying reflective material on the windows.

^As I already mentioned, Kerkythea does not work on my Windows 8 PC. I've been reading about it and it's a common problem. I've played with it outside of SU but I now think Thea is vastly superior. I am using my "artistic license" in my renderings to date, as I learn how to use the program. The renderings I've posted are 100% SU 13 + Thea. No Gimp involved--well except here to create a background for this "draft" interior:

Wrong context but I wanted to use my own photo.

edit: I am going to try out Maxwell next--it's $100 so worth buying if it works well with SU.

Half-Time Break

Building #15 of 30 is currently under construction so in celebration of hitting the halfway point of this game here's some half-time entertainment:

Container housing for all you nimbies!

What's the score?

This guy isn't inspiring much confidence:

The Fashion Building on Spadina Avenue to get a modern facelift? Maybe ... ;)

A checkerboard-patterned structural steel & glass facade teasingly reveals the old building underneath--old building is essentially enclosed within the new. Emperor's new clothes?

NimbyTect's conceptual vision for Richmond and Spadina: build it or brick it?

Still trying to figure out this renderporn biz:

It's taking me back to my photography lessons and why I hated them: way too detailed for me :p

The problem here is probably the glass. Need to sort this out, eh?
