Toronto GO Transit: Davenport Diamond Grade Separation | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Does the VIA Canadian go up that corridor? Did it ever stop at St Clair station?

    Dufferin Street: Eliminating the jog

I'm sure this must have been asked, but are there any plans to paint the bridges once complete? I really like the look of the re-finished bridges further up the line, as part of the railpath. I think finishing these bridges with a fresh coat of paint, even completely covering them in local art...

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

Details for the GO loyalty program rates are posted here: http://gotransit.com/public/en/presto/PrestoFares.htm

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

GO will be posting the details surrounding their discount program towards the end of the month on their website. PRESTO doesn't affect or set transit fares, its simply a means of payment.

    Toronto Strachan Avenue Overpass | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Yeah I checked it out too...the only construction along the corridor that I've noticed is the Queen/Dufferin project and some MOW vehicles moving spare/new track switches around in the corridor between Bathurst and Strachan. Haven't seen any sign of underpass progress yet...

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

Another benefit to the implementation of the presto/smart card/RFID system is that transit agencies are able to pinpoint exactly where riders board vehicles. The TTC would be able to determine that X amount of riders boarded bus route A at a certain stop whereas X-100 riders boarded bus route B...

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

PRESTO will replace GO's current ticketing system completely, once it is rolled out across the entire GO network (including bus and rail).

    Peterborough Commuter Rail

Is there any projected timeline on the Bolton line? I read before that the CP tracks would have to be twinned, seeing as though there is so much freight traffic passing through there currently.

    Simcoe St. Underpass & Extension

I'm going to take my maiden voyage through it tonight, on foot, on the way to softball. Can you feel the excitement! Or maybe that's just a slow day a work getting to me...

    Dufferin Street: Eliminating the jog

A rail station used to exist above Queen and Dufferin, on the south side, it was the old terminus of the Toronto, Grey and Bruce railway. I believe that's what the stairway under Queen lead to as well, the station above. Apologies if I'm way off. Anyway, I know trains were shorter back then...

Major Streets that still need Sidewalks

This may qualify as more of a bikepath than a sidewalk, but if you ever ride/walk south along the west side of the Don River, that path curls to the west along the north side of Lakeshore Blvd., under the Gardiner. It's a decent pathway, but it just ends (Parliament or Sherbourne, I can't...

Cycling: West Toronto Railpath (City of Toronto, Phase II Proposed)

Wow, I really love that paint job...such a simple facelift creates a huge difference. Too bad all the rail bridges around this fair city couldnt get their own treatments, bring back historical signage and paint, etc.

    Subway line interlining and splitting

Wow, you'd like proper signage and a communications campaign could overcome that minor obstacle...

    Subway line interlining and splitting

The Subway was originally interlined, or at least it was during the 60's, from my understanding. What was the reason that practise was stopped? It couldn't have been something as simple as "people were confused", was it?

    Dufferin Street: Eliminating the jog

I believe this would also be the proposed Bolton line as well?

    Dufferin Street: Eliminating the jog

As it is now, both CNR and CPR tracks occupy the bridges above Queen. Are they leaving the CP tracks alone? If so, why?

Canadian National 6213 on the move

Great pics, I was actually down at the CNE when they were constructing the 'rail-ramp' behind the locomotive onto the moving trailer, interesting stuff. It will be fun to see 6213 at the roundhouse once all the new tracks are done and set in the park.

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

Thinking about this "underground" push for the DRL from citizen groups such as us and how it doesnt have any official planning or buzz from city hall yet - was this how Transit City came into existance? Was there a similar movement from the people, leading to an announcement about the LRT lines...

    New TTC Bus Driver Shields

Are these shields gradually being installed on all buses, or just the routes with higher rates of driver abuse?

    TTC: Waterfront Transit EA

It's not the tunnel running north, directly on the east side of York under the tracks is it? I know thats been there for as long as the ACC has and had previously been covered by a mound of dirt/chain link fence. If that's something completely different, i.e. another pedestrian teamway - they...
