Toronto Parade at Concord CityPlace | 127.4m | 44s | Concord Adex | P + S / IBI

One of the referenced are pieces is a phallic shaped ceramin inlay, called 18 Niches. I thought it was a typo.

I actually burst out laughing once I found it:

From the artist's website.

Description:
The artist describes the patterns as “tower formsâ€, inspired by the many neighbouring towers surrounding the site.

More art coming to CityPlace: this addition to the Parade site looks like it could be a total winner.

Gorgeous! Now if only we could have a shoot to kill order for the first person that tags it with graffiti like so much of the other public art here in Cityplace. I see it being re-painted many times.

At least we don't have to look at this ugly thing.

Seriously, who made this and who approved it? Ruins the whole distillery district.

Was it made made by blind kids?

Darn ! I'll miss that, anything replacing it ?

I hope the giant spider thing is staying out front ??

It's not going anywhere. Hawc's just happy that something better than that is heading to Parade.

I do recall some of the pieces on the outside (i.e. spider) were not going to stay forever ?

WTF? That thing is awesome. Everything about it screams a distillery once operated here.

The new sculpture kind of reminds me of this:

I love the use of primary colours in most/all of CityPlace's public art installations. Seems to be a recurring theme throughout the neighbourhood

I can't wait until this is open and can be walked through (if possible!) Although very much loving this, a small part of me wants the piece to be 10 times bigger. This should be a fantastic space when done. On a side note, there were a lot of people walking around when I was there as well as a steady stream of people on the bridge. Walking from CityPlace up Portland via the Yellow Bridge to Queen Street is a very different experience than walking along Spadina. Photos taken 28 February 2013.

This space is going to be a restaurant called The Canoe Landing.
