In a matter of months the view of the front of St Mike's Cathedral will be lost once more.

Poor St. Mike's cathedral. Of any archdiocese in the industrialized world, I can't think of one where the church is in such poor shape and amidst such dismal surroundings.

Is this project going particularly slow? I stayed at the Pantages this time last year and it was pretty much just a hole in the ground then. I don't see a lot of progress for a year.

The building has a pretty large footprint ... so going from a hole in the ground to street level in one year isn't slow by any measure.

Well, yes....... It was a two floor parking building and an 8 (?) floor building which had been a nurses home or hospital office block. It would be pretty sad if anything new looked worse!

that's very interesting. i've love pedestrian bridges. they add a distinct look to urban settings.

it's a good thing CN and GO can't fudge this one up.
