Mississauga Hurontario-Main Line 10 LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Isn't the transitway discontinuous between Erin Mills and City Center? I know they're planning on eventually building a connector between the two halves, however we have very little info about how that would get built (likely as a City Center Tunnel), and in that case they could easily run the missing part south of the 403, and at that point you'll have a station that's 300m north of the northern end of the platform. Certainly not a great transfer by any means, but also not the end of the world.
yes it is due to lack of funds as well opposition from the NIMBY folks along with the retirement home at Mississauga Rd.

The plan was to have the the ROW west of Duke of York with a Duke of York bridge over the 403 to it. It was to be part of the north service road from Hurontario to Creditview. No clue if this plan still exist at this time.

Update:
Rathburn was a warzone Sat with it close between Station Gate to Duke of York for everyone.

No work has taken place on the south pier support since I last shot it, but core drilling for caisson taking place at the intersection in the north-east conner.

Work is to get underway this month for the guideway
Guideway construction in preparation for track installation along Hurontario Street will progress from south to north, beginning between Matheson Boulevard and Britannia Road.

Construction will occur in the mid-block sections (the areas between intersections) with minimal/no impact to pedestrians and traffic flows at intersections for this stage of work.

Work will occur in all of the mid-block zones simultaneously and will take approximately four months to complete in this area.

Once the guideway is constructed, the configuration in the centre of the roadway will be permanent, prohibiting U-turns and left-turns across the tracks at undesignated locations

QEW Push Box
The box will be built on the north side of the North Service off the road. Come Thanksgiving this year, the box will be push onto the road and then south to the QEW overpass. Talks still on going with MTO about closure and no final plan at this time.

One thing I have not seen in the planning documents is how the LRVs will transfer from the at-grade centre of Hurontario onto the guideway. Will they cross Hurontario at-grade to get to the guideway or will the guideway rise in the centre median and then fly over Hurontario? I really hope it is the latter.

I have yet to get an answer on that issue and would be a mistake not keeping it elevate to the north centre and then ramp it. The south will be at grade crossing both Sq One Dr and Hurontario. This will be an issue in time.

Thanks for the reply! I really hope it is ramped in the median.

There is more than enough room to do it on the north side, but next to none on the south side

Reduced Lakeshore West service on April 3 and 10:
· GO buses will replace most trains on the Lakeshore West line on Sunday, April 3 and 10 to carry out important work for the Hurontario LRT project that can only be completed when trains aren’t running.

@TOareaFan has passed away. He was very active here for many years and posted 11,927 messages. He joined UT in 2008. This seemed like the most appropriate thread to post this update.

We certainly agreed to disagree on a few topics, such as the HuLRT/HMLRT where he was more in favour of BRT as the technology, but I always enjoyed the conversations. He was very passionate about Brampton getting weekend GO train service.

Port Credit GO – Check departure boards before boarding
Port Credit GO customers: Due to important construction work, trains may depart from a different track than usual this week between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. until the end of service. Always remember to check departure boards before boarding. You can also check GO Tracker before your train’s scheduled departure time for real-time track information. We appreciate your patience.

The MP mentions his twitter handle of TOAreaFan, but as we know he used the same one here. His passion for Brampton is mentioned and we definitely saw that in his posts in this thread, and several others.

Match 30
Drove the route today and very little going on in Bampton. The construction lights are finally being install at the 403 westbound off ramp and maybe working by the end of the day. Police on hand to deal with lack of traffic signals once change over take place as well string wires.

The east sidewalk is being rebuilt for the underpass at Port Credit. New tall hydro poles installed on the east side up to Mineola Dr with crews preparing to string new wires.

80% of the embankment on the west side has been removed for the Mary Fix Creek work as well the tunnel section.

The only thing I saw at PC for the tunnel was some shoring installed between the tracks and no work going on.

Both elevators were out of service with crews working on them.

GO Trains using platform 2 & 3

A rough built road in place for the LRT tracks to/from the GO 407 Bus Station and the Maintenance Complex. This will be upgraded later this year for both a road and the guideway. No photos.

Centre lanes are block off 100% between intersection to allow the building of the guideway from Matheson to Britannia.

Most of the east side curds are in place north of the 401 with section to be pour. Once pour, the northbound lanes will be pave to shift the traffic to it to allow the centre area block off for building the guideway.

More up on site.

Along Rathburn Road, lots of construction occurring today. Eastbound lanes were closed off. Photos below.

Progress is being made on the 403 LRT bridge too, with lots of piles of dirt and form work occurring. Lots of earth works occurring at the QEW for the new underpass. Couldn’t grab pictures of these last two items sadly.
