I might need to amend these posts later. The little one is home sick and I'm trying to select and post photos using my 12 inch laptop screen.

The PDF's I have for the layout of the HMLRT is super old. It showed that the connection to SQ1 was going to be adjacent from Sherwoodtowne Boulevard, but clearly that isn't the case based on the photos Tim has.

Does anyone have any updated pdf's, or can they draw on a map where exactly the HMLRT is going to join Hurontario before / after crossing over the 403 and going into the middle lane? I have some ideas but I want to be sure.

Fantastic shots @Tim MacDonald that's a really great comprehensive overview of the works to date!

Also shows, in my opinion, that this project has no chance of operating until at least 2027 in my books. The amount of work left to be done here is quite staggering.
It was supposed to open this year...Obviously not happening, but I was still hoping for next year. But Crosstown and Finch don't exactly inspire confidence.

Track work is no where near completion, let alone platforms, overhead wiring, vehicle testing and burn in, operator training....you get the gist. Then add the fiasco that is Metrolinx mismanagement and Mobilinx issues.

0% chance of a 2025 opening.

I was thinking more along the lines of 2026 - 2028 at the pace we're going. Especially considering Metrolinx is stalling Mobilinx because of things not being in spec.

It is even worse south of the QEW. Only one intersection (minneola) has tracks. Luckily, or perhaps unluckily, this stretch is back to four lanes for the winter so I guess no road construction will happen over the winter. If I'm at work tomorrow during daylight hours and the weather permits, I'll take some aerials. Batteries are charged and ready to go!

Looks like Guild has been going through and prepping all of the permanent traffic signals from what I've seen.

Around the 401 area, they seem to have two gantries off to the side with traffic signals mounted to them, hinting at a much more permanent solution for the traffic signals as opposed to having them strung from end to end. This is especially important if they are adopting priority signals along the line.

Most of the work in Brampton is stalled until the 407 work is complete. Some work was being done on the south side of Hurontario just before the 407, but the utility work leading up to Gateway Terminal has been completed. aside The widened lanes being opened will still take a lot of time. My thought about this is that they don't want to deal with any of the lane work right this very moment until they've made success past the 407 so they can plan the excavation appropriately, while also shifting the lanes to the outer limits.

I figure that once they're at that stage, they can shift traffic and have a large space to drop the curb, tracks, and so on.
