That's such an interesting perspective on the ROM from the interchange42 photos. It's fantasy or course, but what a great spot it would have made for a open concourse with those sightlines. Also, that's quite a congested construction site.

What happens to all this wood they use in construction? If it's waste, then how can developers claim condo living is green/sustainable?

If anybody thinks condo living today is sustainable, they are deluding themselves.

As for the wood, a lot of it is re-used. Forms for example.

I get where you're coming from (re:window walls and solar gain) but actually when you take everything into account, living in a multiple-dwelling building in a city is the most sustainable thing one can do.

(Probably my favourite new book last year.)

Agreed! I'm not sure why SP!RE would say that! Living in a city in a high-rise building is one of the most sustainable things, absolutely. The suburbs is where most of the ills for the environment come from.

I had a look at some of the floor plans. I love the availability of large spaces! I can't believe so many units are over 2000 sq. ft..

I believe this was marketing as a luxury building. Makes sense given the location. Hopefully that'll translate to superior materials.
