Toronto Elektra Condos | 133.5m | 42s | Menkes | Giannone Petricone

This is confirmed to be Giannone Petricone as per this, looks like Core Development Group are involved in the land assembly with Menkes here.

Double flatiron!! ?

Good catch. Also top flatiron looks like it has a smile.

If you are referring to my comment above, it was NOT mocking of your opinion but actually agreeing with your statement/comment. "Aside from maximizing profit of course. " Maximizing the profit is what companies do (or try to do) so we must expect them to come up with proposals that extract the last drop of it from every site. Unfortunate? Yes. Unexpected? No.

Exactly. And extracting the last drop formed the foundation for a site like this.

The materials used in this tower are gonna be so important for the execution of the final product. How concerning.
This is really true with virtually all buildings and we have all seen how what looks quite exciting in renderings is value-engineered to not being in the execution!

Would be nice to see the same tone of bricks and white lines from the hotel integrated into the east building's podium. Likewise, why wouldn't the podium be the same height as the hotel vs what is shown is one story shorter? (I am referring to the existing hotel)

I believe they're doing that to give the heritage building more prominence. Make it the same size, and it competes with it, instead of deferring to it.
