The lane way between the "main" building & loft.

What huge, beige bores these clumsy, hulking, bottom-heavy BSN/West Harbour City/500 Sherbourne stepped-up highrise towers are. Give me an unequivocal, soaring Clewesian spire any day ... in whatever variation of the basic form The Great Man comes up with.

I'll take diversity in architecture over UrbanShocker-style "omgclewesdiamondKPMB!!!" monotonism.

And I say that as a fan of modernist who as an architect will always refuse to design hulking blank walls and neo-classical stuff.

Diversity, however is, needed. Glass modernist towers as well as non-glass modernist (or non-modernist) towers.

This one's not too bad. It kind of reminds me of some of the projects going up in Miami. I think as mentioned before, it looks great with Verve.

The biggest surprise for me was the impact it makes on the skyline. It really stands out in its location.

I give it a 7/10.

A couple of pictures today.

The pickup/drop off area. I wonder why the "shelter" is not extended further out. It would be nice to stay dry all the way when it rains.

I think the opening is either the entrance or exit to the carpark.

That's all folks... enjoy

oh, one more thing. I think they are starting to "paint" the ceiling inside the units.

I give Verve a 0/10; 500 Shuxbourne 3/10.
imo when looking at a condo dev, u can't look at only the asthetics. I will definitly rank verve way higher than 500 because I know that with Tridel, ur getting quality materials and workmanship. Times on the other hand, I've heard more bad stories than good. -kd much rather live in a condo that will stand the test of time, that's more important than anything

I have likes and dislikes for both Verve (I do like the lofts) and 500 however by the very nature of their locations I'd up the scores somewhat. This area east of Yonge Street needs an infusion of middle income earners to help ease the economic imbalance of the area.

Have you been in any units in the Verve? My favourite are the "bedroom" doors they installed as entrance doors to each unit... you can hear a pin drop in the unit across the hall. Top quality there...

The Verve was also more $/sqft, so value should have a play in a "score" as well....

so what happened to the solid core doors ???
that's a major defect/omission that an owner could have rectified.

An entrance door to each condo unit needs to be a solid core door for fire safety rating purposes ... therefore it is not possible to have "bedroom (hollow) doors" installed as entrance doors to each unit, that would never pass building inspections, let alone occupancy permits ... unless you are just making a unfounded statement for the sake of an arguement ;)
