Yes to the focusing on health and sobriety. No to coming back in four years.

re: influence

At this point, I think he ain't got a hope of manipulating the specialists directly.

I don't want him to come back, but if he insists on it he should at least take a long break. If he's able to stay sober for a few years, loses a lot of weight, patches things up with family then come back. Of course, cops might have other plans for him.

My dog has cancer, a large mass was removed from the left side of her ribcage three years ago along with surrounding tissues (the Vet was very aggressive). Samples were sent out for testing (four pathology tests) and the results came back three days later. That's for a dog. Thankfully it's non-aggressive, she's had two surgeries since for lumps and is doing just great. My mom has polyps on an organ in her throat (I forget which one), she has a biopsy done each year as an outpatient and gets results back in less than a week. Point is, I don't believe that results from a biopsy for Ford will take a week, especially not in a situation like this.

Anyone care to wager if Rob drops out of the race tomorrow by 2pm? I say "no", he'll stay in the race. I also hold to my belief that Doug will not run for Mayor. It would be interesting to see polling done tomorrow (Friday), I'll bet Rob has jumped 5 points.

Oh for crying out loud. These are world renowned experts who are not going to risk their licenses to practice medicine for a bribe from the Fords.

It doesn't have to be a bribe, it could range from an implied threat, to an explicit threat. No, I absolutely do not have video proof of that. Here is why I am jaded about it though. We've seen this type of game being played before. Will Lucy -not- take away the football from Charlie Brown this time? I mean after the 99999th time, the next one could be different I guess. It's possible. But you can see how some people would be wary about it no?

This. Rob needs to go and stay go, if nothing else literally for the sake of his own life. I have little sympathy left for the crack bear, but the circus family that would still think of using him to further the Ford Legacy, is outright despicable.

Sorry abut your puppy.

I think Rob Ford will stay in the race. He is going to milk this for all it is worth and possibly accomplish what we thought was impossible - becoming mayor again.

He really should focus on his health and sobriety and come back in four years.

No more years! He might not even be alive.

This seems rational. However, this is "Crazy Town" now...

Wouldn't surprise me either.

At this stage his doctors are merely investigating, which is legit, and therefore no risk to them. Other people are saying the tumour could be this or that.

It's the way the Fords are handling this that rouses suspicion. How many press conferences and interviews have there been already, and it's only Day 2?

I'm reading Daniel Dale's chat:

Q:
Is Warmington respected by fellow journalists?

A:
Anything else?

LOL! I'm actually surprised they let that question go through and that he answered like he did!

That was my question! I asked several during that chat.

A responsible candidate with unknown health issues going forward would drop out knowing they might not be able to fulfill their term.

He authorized his physicians to answer questions from the media as best they could. He didn't have to do that.

By the time of the election his medical situation should be much more clear than it is now and the voters can decide if they want to take a chance on him ( again ).

I don't think he can threaten anyone - the Doc is cool as a cucumber. Besides, threatening someone who has your health in his hands isn't exactly my idea of smart.
