Rob Ford's Toronto

Ford nation won't budge even if he is arrested. Their predictably idiotic responses will consist of:

1: It was witchhunt and this is proof.
2: Blair is playing politics
3: It's a lefty conspiracy
4: Why hasn't Wynne been arrested, gas plants, friend of a pedophile, she wears pantsuits
5: Nothing has been proven in court
6: Jack Layton got a handjob
7: He saved me a billion dollars

You hit the nail on the head. Sadly enough all this is true. Ford supporters should not be allowed to procreate. It's the wort possible thing that could happen to our gene pool.

Oh, I'd say that Doug the Thug's involvement in any of Slob's less-than-legal shenanigans is anything but accidental. Don't forget, Rob is genuinely a moron, while Douggie is known as being (well, comparitively) the more intelligent of the pair. If anything, I'd figure Doug's the one calling the shots. At the very least, they're partners in crime.

Of course, this is all speculation. Who knows, really?

If circumstances really do come to these two shitstains getting into serious trouble with the Law - including facing down a potentially lengthy stay at Her Majesty's pleasure in a dank prison cell featuring all the trimmings - I wonder if the ever-so vaunted Ford Family Loyalty will continue unabated...or will the boys each finally turn on one another in a feeble attempt to save their own worthless skins? The thought of Doug-o throwing his brother under the bus (and the subsequent look of betrayed astonishment on Slob's stupid fat face when it happens) is absolutely heart-warming, isn't it?

I desperately want exactly this to happen. If Crazy Town is an accurate depiction of their dynamic, it doesn't seem that far-fetched at all.

We have to pay for all the benefits governments bring. Without taxes, how can the poor be able to have basic necessities?

Look buddy, I don't want to hear it. I've got car payments to make! My neighbour has two BMWs so it's only fair that I should have a BMW too. All I know is I'm tired of paying for downtown arts projects like tree-hugging lesbian opera classes for immigrants. One of my bedrooms doesn't even have a TV in it because the LRT put my taxes up and clogged up the streets when I'm trying to drive to work. Now we have to pay $160 tickets too just for grabbing a coffee. It's socialism.

At least Rob Ford is out there standing up for the little guy every day unlike all the lefties on Council who are addicted to spending our money on queer bicycle paths. If you don't like it, go back to Russia.

I suppose the Fords are so filthy rich that they don't feel the extra legal fees resulting from Rob's behaviour. Still, I wonder who's writing the cheques. You'd think that with the prospect of a number of trials ahead of him, Rob would start to see the financial benefit of managing himself a little better. If it's Diane, you'd think she'd start putting a little pressure on her son.

Au contraire! Why, only the other day, local lottery-winner Rob Ford was reminiscing how is as poor as a church mouse and doesn't have any money... and if we know anything about this man, it's that He Never Lies Because That Would Be Wrong (And He Is Extremely, Extremely, Extremely Sorry).

From a friend in the TPS: Charges will most likely be laid On Ford before the end of The month

After reading the article on Ford being charged I talked to a friend of mine who's a police officer about this and he told me that he had heard rumours that the investigation on Ford was wrapping up and that charges will most likely be laid before the end of the month.

The article this person is referring to is this reddit post (which was referring to MM's post): http://www.reddit.com/r/toronto/comments/1x4zqq/from_ut_rob_ford_will_be_charged_tps_source/

This is actually a very good point. Recall from the Lisi ITO that Rob lists his mom's house as his address on his drivers licence.

I wouldn't bet money on there being a Smith link, but my sources tell me they wouldn't be surprised. The more probable charges involve him misusing his office in some way that's related to the notebook cops found. I know a lot of reporters suspect there's something big at play here but they're frustrated confirming the true focus of the investigation has been so difficult.

I haven't caught up with all of today's posts, so forgive me if this has been addressed, but - first I've heard of a 'notebook'. Is this more awesome JimmiT inside scoop, or is it referenced somewhere else that I can check out? Thanks :)

This article here, http://news.nationalpost.com/2013/1...te-was-in-his-office-mayor-was-driving-drunk/, mentions a notebook belonging to former staffer, Kia Nejatian.

"Mr. Ford’s former executive assistant, Kia Nejatian, provided investigators with a book of phone numbers and notes he kept during his time with the mayor, according to a summary of the Mr. Nejatian’s interview with police that was released to the public Wednesday. In the notebook, investigators reported finding phone numbers for the mayor’s friend and alleged drug dealer Alexander Lisi and Fabio Basso, the occupant of the Windsor Road home where the alleged crack video is reportedly believed to have been filmed. The notebook also allegedly contains a note about “contacting the water department” regarding Mr. Basso’s Windsor Road bungalow as well as outstanding bills for the household."

Did Lisi have a notebook, as well?

I would rather see the Ford's go down for abusing public trust, abuse of office, fraud related to land deals etc than any amount of drug or violence related crimes.
