Toronto's growing, diverse, and aging population makes the design and construction of medical facilities as critical as the services provided within them. Having long recognized the urgent need to help alleviate the backlogged hospital system, Oben Build has emerged as an innovator within the specialty healthcare facility sector.  With close to a dozen new centres at various stages of development, Oben Build, a Toronto-based firm, streamlines the journey from conceptual design to the ribbon-cutting of cutting-edge clinics and removes the complexity of clinic construction and management from the already overburdened doctors.

Oben Build's approach for these projects is comprehensive, covering every phase from site selection to post-construction quality control, ensuring that each project is up to medical standards and aligned with provincial needs and doctors' expectations. The firm serves as a single point of contact, managing all stages including approvals, equipment planning, contract administration and construction. Their approach ensures that each space is designed and developed to suit the specific needs of the healthcare services it will host, creating a supportive environment for both practitioners and patients. This full-spectrum service model streamlines the process, allowing doctors to focus on their primary goal: patient care.

Oben Build’s portfolio of healthcare projects demonstrates its capability and commitment to enhancing Toronto's healthcare infrastructure. Some notable past projects include the Toronto Immune & Digestive Health Institute, West GTA Endoscopy Clinic as well as the Oakville Endoscopy Centre, a cutting-edge 20,000 ft² facility providing both Infusion and full endoscopy services.

Dr. Mark Silverberg, who heads the Toronto Immune & Digestive Health Institute, worked with Dario Lupusella, President of Oben Build, and his team for the project, noting: "Lupusella and his team were extremely efficient with their time. They were very close to the planned budget and where we were over there were valid explanations. The Oben Build team made themselves aware of all the regulatory guidelines and technical aspects of a clinic that performs medical procedures and completed the work properly such that the inspections were passed easily. Two years later our patients still rave about how nice our clinic looks."

New projects include the Riverside Cardiology and Diagnostic Imaging Clinic, a 20,000 ft² facility located in Etobicoke.  With plans to start construction in October, this project will involve completely transforming a former event space into a state-of-the-art cardiology centre that will set the bar for patient care.

Oben Build’s impact extends beyond healthcare facilities into the residential sector, showcasing their versatility and commitment to excellence. Also known for their expertise in the mid-rise residential construction space, Oben Build is currently working on such innovative projects like Hälsa on Royal York Road in South Etobicoke that champions the use of mass timber for mid-rise construction and Courcelette Condos in Scarborough's Upper Beach neighbourhood. Both Hälsa and Courcelette are designed to achieve LEED Platinum certification and align with the One Planet Living framework.

Oben Build continues to build a robust portfolio, transforming spaces and enhancing the quality of life in Toronto.
