the capitalist in me says smitherman's gayness means one more guy not consuming tang & juggs which means more tang & juggs for you and me. if i had it my way, every man would be gay but me, leaving me with a monopoly, and possibly mono.

Ahahaha. Yeah, to not vote for someone "because they're gay" is not only embarrassingly rude and lacking in respect for fellow human beings, it's a stupid way to vote. At least PRETEND to be political, people!
In the MET, someone had gone around and left notes in our doors yesterday urging us once again to not vote for Ford. Hehe. I love seeing people come together for a great cause

Probably the same reason most people ignore the no-hopers: Fringe candidates aren't worth any serious effort. You can say Joe is a long shot, but you can't say he's not and hasn't been a viable candidate.

Some of those foreigners come from backwards countries where they execute people for being gay, So they will be voting for Ford.

While I won't be voting for him, I have to admit that I am morbidly curious about a Ford win. Is there someone out there that can embarrass Toronto more than Mel?

Cant wait for Ford to win, the suburbs have been forgotten by city hall for so many years now hopefully that can change and we can see some benefits of all of the tax increases to fund everything south of bloor. The way you paint Ford supporters some of you should honestly be ashamed of yourselves. We are hard working Torontonians tired of seeing our taxes increase year after year with little in the way of new services. Sorry downtown its time for a more balanced city.

Yeah man, totally agree. Transit City only serves downtown, not any other areas of Toronto like Finch, Sheppard, Eglinton, or Jane. Oh, and Mel Lastman was a total downtown elitist that probably never lived a day of his life in the suburbs!

I love this myth ... I hope you come to realise Miller most likely attempted to do more for the suburbs then any other mayor will in the foreseeable future ... I'm not kidding! Expect to see crime up, particular with youth - most of the priority neighborhood work is outside of the inner core so is the objective of transit city and the like.
Let's take a step back - what did Miller even do for the core over the last 8 years ?
1) Waterfront development ? Nope not really, this was happening a long time before - and will continue you afterwords (maybe at a slower rate). And quite a bit of the money wasn't even from Toronto.
2) NPS revitalization ... yep, maybe, and that has just started.
What else has he done ? Most if not all of the TTC improvements were to bus routes if in the outer suburbs ... nothing for the inner city.
If only you realize how big of a lie Ford has created with this "inner vs outer" and again, Miller had done and will have done more then Ford ever will for the outer suburbs ...

My final prediction for tonight:
43.7 - Smitherman (owes progressives a thank you card, or a few extra bike lanes for good measure)
42.5 - Ford (this time next year he will be a Hudak cabinet minister - who would have thought?)
8.5 - Pantalone (No way he hits double digits with all the fence sitters)
5.3 - Other (damn Rossi loyalists and KKK sympathizers)
