Former President Donald Trump's United States of America

What do you expect from the conservative Media Research Center and their divisions MRCTV and CNS News?

It's as credible as Newsmax or OANN, both of which are jokes to anyone with a brain.

However, the video of Antifa attacking police in Portland is one of the more accurate stuff they put out (though the video does not show the full picture in order to make progressives look bad).

Donald Trump Labelled 'Loser of the Year' by Europe's Biggest News Magazine

From link.

The German magazine Der Spiegel has delivered a withering assessment of President Donald Trump's 2020 in an article headlined "The loser of the year."

The piece of more than 3,300 words pulled no punches in criticizing Trump's response to the coronavirus pandemic, his refusal to accept an election defeat, and for good measure, it took swipes at other presidential actions this year.

Headlined in German "Der Verlierer des Jahres" the article published online on Thursday describes how Trump's refusal to accept President-elect Joe Biden's victory is "not surprising," because, as Roland Nelles and Ralf Neukirch write: "nothing is normal under Trump.

"Instead, he speaks of massive electoral fraud, although there is no evidence for it. Trump's presidency ends as it began. Without decency and without dignity."

"The country is more divided than ever since the times of the Civil War. This is not a by-product of Trump's politics, it is their goal," the piece says, concluding that "permanent conflict is part of his strategy... he does not even give the impression that he is the president of all Americans."

The Black Lives Matter movement and the protests and counter-protests following the killing of George Floyd in May meant that "now is the time to unite the country," Der Spiegel says, however, "Trump is fueling the conflict."

"He sends federal troops to Portland, although the Governor of Oregon is against it. He blames the 'Antifa' for the violence and avoids setting himself apart from right-wing extremist militias."

The article criticizes Trump's dismissal of numerous administration officials, his impeachment trial and the GOP senators it says have acted as his enablers. "The formerly proud party of Abraham Lincoln has degenerated into a collection of spineless yes-men."

With a circulation of around 870,000, the left-leaning publication is the biggest news magazine in Europe. It did note some positives, such as Trump's record number of votes, Republican gains in the House of Representatives and the strong chance that the GOP has of defending its majority in the Senate.

However Der Spiegel suggests the presidency was shaped the most by the coronavirus pandemic which "mercilessly exposes Trump's weaknesses" that were driven by a "disdain for science and expertise."

It says that Trump played down the pandemic, politicized it and "refuses to take responsibility in the worst health crisis the country has suffered for one hundred years. He is complicit in the deaths of numerous Americans."

It is not the first time that the magazine has given Trump both barrels. Last month, it called Trump "the squatter" and its front page image portrayed him in camouflage in the Oval Office, in a swipe at his reluctance to hand over power.

Trump rejects Supreme Court decision. What else is new?

Trump news – live: President repeats baseless fraud claims as Supreme Court rejects bid to overturn election

From link.

Donald Trump has reacted with fury after the Supreme Court swiftly rejected a Texas lawsuit seeking to throw out voting results in four states.

The court’s decision on Friday deals Mr Trump a likely fatal blow in his long shot attempts to undermine faith in the election and have it overturned in his favour.
The president and his allies continue to baselessly accuse states he lost narrowly of committing mass election fraud, despite failing to provide any evidence.

“The Supreme Court really let us down. No Wisdom, No Courage!” Mr Trump tweeted shortly before midnight, before falsely claiming the election election was “rigged” and that he would “fight on”.

Ted Cruz says Senate will likely blockade Biden's nominations based on debunked election fraud allegations

See link.

Some Republican senators are using their unfounded election fraud claims as an excuse to muddy President-elect Joe Biden's transition.

Biden has spent the past few weeks since the election filling out his Cabinet, hoping quick confirmations will help him get a quick start on reversing President Trump's policies. But "as long as there's litigation ongoing, and the election result is disputed, I do not think you will see the Senate act to confirm any nominee," Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) told Axios.

The Senate typically starts hearing from an incoming president's Cabinet nominees before Inauguration Day, allowing them to more quickly be confirmed and start work as soon as a new president is sworn in and can formally nominate them. That's especially essential during a pandemic — something retiring Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) noted to Axios on Friday.

But much of the Republican Senate and House have yet to acknowledge Biden's win. More than 100 of those congressmembers joined Texas' lawsuit Thursday aimed at overturning the election results in four states that went for Biden. The lawsuit alleges Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin improperly changed voting rules in the 2020 election, but is unlikely to succeed in the Supreme Court, not least because several states included on the suit made similar changes by the same means.

Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) meanwhile wants a chance to challenge Biden's nominees on their credentials, particularly his controversial Defense Secretary pick retired Gen. Lloyd Austin.
