Canada's next Prime Minister?

Who would win in the Federal Elections?

  • Total voters
    68
  • Poll closed .
Woah, there. I'm not fan of Harper, either, but I don't think that kind of invective is really called for.

Yes it is. And let me repeat: Stephen Harper is a NEO-CON DEMAGOGUE in waiting. DO NOT VOTE FOR HIS PARTY. The guy will decimate the CBC and all national institutions, continue on his relentless privatization of healthcare, remove women's rights to safe legal abortion, and turn us into the United States faster than you can even imagine.

Quality contributions from the newbie! This certainly upgrades the tone of our forum.

Edit: I just saw the most recent post: picture with reference to "Aryans". I strongly suggest to mods that this be deleted and a warning issued, or maybe a ban. I think this goes way beyond anything acceptable here.

Like I understand you do not like him, but it does mean he is a Nazi...

Maybe in your simplistic world where everything is black and white...

Anyways I think, Harper's chances at a majority are gone as he will not pick up support in Quebec and he may lose a seat there.

The Liberals will pick up 3-4 seats in Atlantic Canada (Newfounland mostly) and pick up Wajid Khans riding and Emerson's riding. Justin Trudeau could win his riding as well.

Anyways, the Bloc will steal 2-3 seats, the Liberals around 5-7 seats and the NDP could do something as well.

That means not only does haper have to win 13 seats to close the Gap, he would have to get 10 more around 23 seats GAIN!

Duceppe and May were terrific in the debate last night, May inspired me. I didn't see the French language debate but I read that Dion did better than the English counterpart. Watching Harper slither his way through the debate made my skin crawl, and made me sad. I guess I've been fooling myself into believing that Canadians were smarter and somewhat more progressive.

major problem in Ontario is that the Liberal support is strong in thier strongholds...

Imo Conservative support has gone up in ridings that they already have and ridings they will likely win...

Meaning I do not see more then 15 liberal seats being lost to the Tories...

True the nonesane the NDP and Layton spew on Harper, really turns me off thier party.

Really NDP will never convince moderates of ever supporting them and GOD DAMN I would vote Harper, to make sure the NDP ever come in power, but that would happen when pigs fly...

I am ashamed to be Canadian with this FUCK: Stephen-REFORM PARTY-Harper as PM. I can't understand who votes for this fat bloated GWB ass-kissing neo-con troglodite.

When Mike Harris was elected in Ontario, I left Ontario in protest. I really hope I do not have to leave Canada if Harper gets elected.

Stephen Harper and the CPC look tame compared to people with your hateful attitude. Recently, I've been to some social gatherings where some of us will debate the issues and most often people like you ruin the party. I enjoy the difference of opinion on this forum and we can agree to disagree and move on. Grow up!

WHY Quebec (which is arguably more socialist than other provinces) would even consider the conservatives over the Bloc, or the liberals, just baffles me!

Could it be because Quebec has more private health clinics than any other province? Does that baffle you, too?

Stephen Harper's thinly veiled ideologically-based form of governing has not changed since his days of leading the Reform Party. As leader of the Reform Party Harper solidified his far-right views exemplified in his pro-American (does NO ONE remember the FULL PAGE AD he took out in American papers when Canada didn't go into Iraq??) , sexist, racist, and xenophobic platforms in the Reform.

And how much of that is the Conservative party platform now? Show me policies that are 'sexist, racist and xenophobic' today. Voters judge based on platforms not on somebody's attitude from a decade ago. If we used your standard, Trudeau's flirtation with communism would have disqualified him from the premiership. Thankfully, Canadians are far more tolerant than that.

Really, you think the Tories are nuts...

The number of idiots in the NDP is much higher imo...

All the crazy socialist who are xenophobic to the world and to the US and to anything that does not fit their socialist views...
