Best Albums of 2008

I've already listened to one of my top 2009 albums: Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavilion

I've never been a fan of Animal Collective, but this one is soooo good.

I'm surprised nobody else mentioned the new Keane album. It's the most singalong and melodic album I've heard in a while!

Singalong...melodic...Keane...

Nice pick khristopher. It's one of my top ones of the year as well. One album i've been listening to recently that I think will start to get some exposure is Ladyhawke. Her album is really solid.

great deals

Sorry a little off topic but a great place to buy albums, cd's, DVD's etc is Called Sonic Boom at 512 Bloor west near Bathurst. There are a number of smaller stores in that area that sell used media as well. I know most like to down load but I'm from the old school and like hands on material myself.

Recloose - 'Perfect Timing'

Lindstrom - 'Where You Go I Go Too'

Osborne - 'Osborne'

Beat Pharmacy - 'Wikkid Times'

Afefe Iku - 'Artifacts Of Pottery Vessels'

Morgan Geist - 'Double Night Time'

That's all I can think of off the top of my head. Seems that the concept of an album is becoming less and less prevalent now that people can buy single tracks... and i'm ok with that.

As well as some of the previously mentioned albums, I'd like to add:

Blood Red Shoes - Box of Secrets

Some great rock tunes on here, no messing about - vocals, guitars, drums. Excellent.

British Sea Power - Do You Like Rock Music?

Probably their best album so far, yes British Sea Power, I do like rock music, and I like your rock music.

Foals - Antidotes

Some nice fiddly guitar parts, great melodies and hooks, only one or two duff tracks on the album.

That wasn't even one of the best songs of 2006 (when it was released), let alone being one of the best songs of 2008.

I'd be surprised if it made even Massari's list.
