2018 Ontario Provincial Election Discussion

Toronto police say they have launched a professional standards investigation into police officer and PC candidate Roshan Nallaratnam following allegations he made death threats against a community member.

What a shock.

How many PC candidates have been implicated in some sort of scandal now?

If the hash selling story didn't bring him down nothing will at this point.

Really the only way to stop Ford is to vote NDP.

I'm also Toronto Centre. Considering that the incumbent Liberal essentially abandoned the riding before the election, I'm voting NDP.
Admiral Beez voting NDPeez? Wow, that's a bit of a different AB from a decade ago on this forum. Hehe.

Ford leaving early is wishful thinking. He will bribe his party opponents with cabinet positions and centralize all the party power. Tenycke will run the show with Ford as huckster in chief. No PC MPP will screw up their shot at power by going after their leader. Anything illegal will take too long to go through the system. If Ford wins he will be there for four years
If Ford gets a majority, chances are "pretty good" he'd win again in 2022. Incumbency brings huge advantages.

His wife's response indicates the position they'll be taking - that Ford's wife is an addict and they're simply stopping her from harming herself.

Not sure if it'll be successful though.

They need to highlight the numbers relating to business losses -- after all, we hear so often that we need a successful businessman to run the province.

I'm sure he'll try to dismiss it as the cost of expansion, etc. But those are significant losses for a business of that size. No matter what the excuse, certainly doesn't fit Ford's narrative.

The lawsuit has much clearer numbers than the PC's 'plan'. :p

The question of course then becomes - should we trust a failing businessman to run, or the prognostication of someone who couldn't tell if the businessman is failing...

And on that score, the Trump comparison continues. How is it that when we talk about getting businessman to run, we always end up with these 3 bit operators with precious little to show for it?
