    YRT/Viva Construction Thread (Rapidways, Terminals)

I believe long routes are generally more difficult to manage and keep on time vs. two shorter routes, and many riders transfer to/from Viva Blue at RHC. Presumably ridership studies have been done on what percentage of passengers travel through RHC and they'll keep an eye on that going...

Metrolinx: Bombardier Flexity Freedom & Alstom Citadis Spirit LRVs

In every other Ontario city getting an LRT there is no point in making the distinction as every LRV will be accessible, they do not have any legacy streetcars or non-accessible LRVs at all. In fact, I'm pretty sure that Ottawa and KW don't have any non-accessible transit vehicles period, all of...

    2018 Provincial Election Transit Promises

Could we please keep this thread on topic? That is indeed a very big story, but it really has nothing to do with transit promises in the election.

Waterloo Region Transit Developments (ION LRT, new terminal, GRT buses)

Given that they were supposed to have all trains in mid 2017 to open late 2017, I think it's unlikely.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

The Barrie Line cancellations are getting ridiculous. Today January 22nd: Union 10:40 - Aurora 11:29 #GOtrain ends @ Maple due to freight train traffic Aurora 11:41 - Union 12:33 #GOtrain starts @ Maple due freight traffic Union 11:40 - Aurora 12:29 #GOtrain ends @ Maple due to freight train...

    YRT/Viva Construction Thread (Rapidways, Terminals)

Buses should move as fast as possible. If buses are always on schedule without using TSP, the schedules should all be made faster and the buses should always use TSP.

Yorkdale Subway Station Easier Access (Arc En Ciel Reinstallation)

There is one west of the Yorkdale Rd entrance of the subway station, in the mall's newest expansion. Once the subway station is made accessible, one simply needs to exit the north end of the station, cross west and north at the intersection, then proceed west to the entrance.

Downtown Parking Enforcement / Illegal Stopping

I believe taxis are exempted from the no stopping rule when dropping off/picking up passengers. They are also allowed to stop in bike lanes, but not cycle tracks.

Union Station LRT Loop Reconfiguration (TTC, Proposed)

They definitely need to include an additional entrance/exit when they expand the loop. The current connection to the subway platform is unusable on summer weekends and holidays due to CNE and other event traffic, throughout the year it's quite bad during peak periods too. There's no way they can...

    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

Few if any ALRVs during the winter though, apparently. Hell of a "refit"...

    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

I agree with your sentiment but as far as I know there will be fewer LFLRVs than there were CLRVs+ALRVs at about 200 vs 250. The LFLRVs are on a capacity replacement/slight bump basis, but their large size means that fewer of them were ordered. So headways across the entire TTC will, in general...

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

Has it been more than 24 hours since these trips? Most buses outside the TTC sync once per day in the middle of the night. Sometimes a bus, in the case of your transfer tap, syncs early for whatever reason. Sometimes a bus misses the nightly sync so you may have to wait 48 hours. If you check...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Yeah, this was the only way I could reliably make/receive phone calls when I lived in a Fort York-area condo. Rogers coverage was awful. Had to go to the balcony to make calls. Got so bad that I ended up buying cordless handsets and VOIP service from Yak. I was thrilled when Rogers finally...

I don't believe so. Last I heard that ramp would solely go down to the lower level. That area can get extremely congested at peak and especially during sports games. The current ramp could barely handle the traffic before half of it was closed. No way a split ramp would work.

Toronto Spadina Subway Extension Emergency Exits | ?m | 1s | TTC | IBI Group

I disagree. I think it's great that those people are taking the subway rather than driving all the way downtown. It would be nice if they were on buses for the first/last mile but by no stretch is passenger pickup and dropoff "sad" compared to auto-only commuting.

Toronto Spadina Subway Extension Emergency Exits | ?m | 1s | TTC | IBI Group

They have a proper one at 407. I believe they also have them at Pioneer Village and Finch West. At VMC they have specified areas along a couple of curbs that cars should use for pickup/dropoff purposes.

One of the faregates is set to stuck open. Someone stands in front of it checking passes, and I assume they have a farebox for tickets/tokens.

    TTC: Customer Service

This is some...special thinking. Isn't 506 replaced by buses until 2019? 505 is absent from this list so it seems they remembered that. 514 cherry is cancelled, 514 King operates from...dufferin loop to broadview? What? Why not just run it as 514 service entirely? Or have half the streetcars...

Yeah, not sure what your issue is with covered moats. You could use the Yor9k St covered moat to connect to the West (Citibank) and Northwest PATH links, the northwest link currently just takes you to street level across the intersection but is going to be extended to meet up with the main...
