Four colours of brick on Widmer Street in Downtown Toronto — from both heritage buildings and modern ones — provide relief from all the glass we normally see now on streets with recent development activity. In the case of this image by UrbanToronto Forum contributor DavidCapizzano, it's the recent Theatre District Residence and Riu Plaza Hotel development that's responsible for all of the brick colours, plus the copper patina green on the gables. The development manages to boast so many colours as its new buildings feature two — the brown brick seen at lower right on the podium, and the dominating orange brick on the towers — while its heritage buildings are made up of two brick colours themselves; a dark red and a buff colour.
