They've recently put up new application boards, and the design appears to have changed again. Now it looks more like the original design, but instead of having a wavy strip of curtainwall it's just a straight vertical bands.

Don't worry, you'll have your fill of wavy-balconied projects downtown over the next few years. The new design is definitely the better choice. Glad they re-vamped it.

Almost assuredly (though sadly) remove. There is next to no way that Canderel will replace the 5-6 units along here. They will most likely be consolidated into 2-3 larger format stores (unfortunately).

I'll wait to see the new design, but this sounds ominous. Creative design features tend to get stripped out so as to not rock the boat. Does everything need to look like CASA or MLS? Good grief.

Putting a 50+s tower on a spot right beside a heritage structure 1/10th the height is rocking the boat - staggering and rearranging the balcony profiles is anything but in comparison.
