I wonder how long it will take for someone to develop the loblaws behind this building
My suspicion would be that as soon as the other buildings on the (larger) site can accommodate a supermarket Loblaws will move and their current building will go. I doubt they would want to close that one before there was a nearby alternative.

This Loblaw is currently under renovations so I suspect it will be with us for a bit longer.

I was actually just there and the renos appear to be cosmetic however, it will be at least 5 years before the other buildings in these blocks are likely to be ready to accommodate a moved Loblaws so I agree a move and demolition of existing store is not 'immediate'.

That site will be competing with many other very large condo developments in the immediate vicinity - Sugar Wharf, 1 Yonge, Lakeside Residences and so on. I think they might want to wait a bit to let the dust settle otherwise the oversupply may put pressure on the potential prices. Also, it goes in their interest to start selling once these buildings are up, some retail is there so that the area feels more developed than what it is right now. QQE streetcar may already be under construction by that time.

Loblaws / Choice have no intention to redevelop in the near to medium future.

Interesting. I wonder why considering the near ridiculous amount of density they have site and vast oversupply of parking currently on site. I would have figured they would at least do a phase 1 replacing the north parking structure. I mean they are potentially sitting on close to 2,000 units there.

A morning shot.

Another year has past.
This sequence was posted in the Daniels thread the last two years on Christmas Day. Maybe a more positive thread choice (it’s still early) will bring some cheer to all.
I think technology and user tech savvy is limiting the quality and usefulness of this post.
If we are still living in this condo next year at this time, I will figure out how to improve the images. My wife says we won’t be here, so enjoy... she’s always right.
