Why are the replacements only at three to one? Metrolinx's tree replacement policy if MUCH greater than that, for very large trees.

Unless they changed their rules after they got called out for not following it for the Small's Creek replacements.
 
If anything Metrolinx should spend extra money and plant more mature trees instead of matchsticks so they establish a more pronounced canopy quicker.
 
Wouldn't matter, the roots for these trees will not be able to get deep enough to reach the same level of growth the current ones did.
They might at Osgoode - I thought the tree removals there were for access more so than the small station entrance.

Moss Park is literally over the station - so it depends how deep the station is - it isn't shallow.

Trees cannot be planted anywhere on the keyhole site.
The station headhouse only takes up the south end.
