That is a 'placing pump'. Pumpcrete is a company that supplies them.

It must take a massive amount of pressure to pump concrete up 50+ stories straight into the sky. And how do they clean out the pipes afterwards? Because if that stuff were to set you'd have to throw out hundreds of meters of pipes.

I believe they have to insert a "sponge" into the end of the line at the top and back pump to relieve pressure, they then put water in the hopper at ground level and forward pump to the max. so the water clears the lines. Not sure the specifics but some of the concrete pump companies have some literature probably on their websites if your curious.

Just think, the Four Seasons is currently the King of Yorkville in height at 204m (669ft). One Bloor will blast in at 257m+ (844ft). This will be the new king of Yorkville and appear much taller than the current champ Four Seasons. At over 175ft TALLER, it will be a beast and will make a similar impact on the skyline as Aura (slightly less due to competing structures nearby whereas Aura is all alone). But still, it'll be intense.

Oh Chester, you tease! Given that 50 Bloor got a height reduction, 80 Bloor and 37 Yorkville are proposed even smaller, I'm liking the sounds of this.

One Bloor will certainly set the stage for the emergence of a good 2nd cluster in the core. I'm hoping we won't have to wait till 2025 to see our first 350m building in Yorkville, but you never know.
Some fail to recognize this, but skyscrapers (and height) are the palaces and castles of our age. They're symbols of a wealthy and successful society. There are many other markers of course, but these are the most powerful ones as they are the face that cities present to the world.

I guess in the above pic, the spandrel will continue along the curve above the balcony.
What you fail to recognize is that only a subset of society cares about what you care about. I'd say that relatively few people actually only look to how tall the buildings are when judging any particular city or country. Most people are more sophisticated than that, and pay attention to other conditions in those places too, like the state of human rights, whether or not the buildings may have been built through virtual slavery (as in Dubai), etc.
There's far more to care about than simply height for height's sake. There may be a spot or spots for supertalls in this city, but every proposal needs to be scrutinized on its own merits, and there are many tests to determine appropriateness. If a supertall can pass muster in Yorkville, great, but no-one at City Hall is trying, (nor should they be trying), to egg developers on to go taller just to hit some entirely arbitrary height to satisfy some insecure fanboys.
