awesome shots, welcome aboard! I assume you will be able to help us out with some aerial views of the Burano tower once it starts rising ?

Heh heh... Lumiere's the best subject from this vantage point for now, but I'll cetainly try to get some shots of Burano as it goes up. It'll require some leaning out over the railing of my balcony, but it's all for a good cause, right?

And if/when the Sick Kids Research Tower starts to go up, I should have a good view of that too: so stay tuned...

Oct 10 update

A few pics from Saturday Oct 10th -- some from below, some from above.

As for updates, the building continues to climb skyward at a good clip. The crew has been working most weekends lately, but there was no sign of anyone yesterday on the Saturday of the Thanksgiving weekend.

Also, it looks like they're getting ready to add some more of the precast concrete cladding on the south side: a few panels of it are already in place on the north side, but they're quite low down on the building and so not very visible. No sign of the other cladding materials making an appearance any time soon...

I was pleasantly impressed by the glass being installed on the curtain wall - It was a really nice dark blue

Wow-- in that last pic.-- they are already painting the undersides of balconies white. Crazy!

It looks like a cute building. I am curious as to what this podium will end up like.

I am dying to see the glass... will have to head down there sometime soon!

A few more stories - and cladding

Some pics from Sunday Oct 25.

They've continued to add some of the pre-cast cladding on the north side of the building, including the first few panels which will feature the distinctive striping visible in the renders.

As mentioned above, they've also started to test-drive some of the framing/windows on the south side: it looks like a smokey blue/grey to me, and I'll be curious to see what it looks like if/when we get a whole building of it. Looks kinda dark.

Also, though only one of these pics gets it, they've started to add the first few rows of dark grey (brick?) cladding to the south side as well, starting up the side of the tower. I hadn't seen this in the renders, but then most of the renders I've seen look at the tower from the north: will be interesting to see how this develops.

Sorry for the poor quality photos. My camera died so I'm using a borrowed camera. New camera coming soon.
