Having been up past this site recently, I gotta say it--dare I say it? Menkes, you're ruining Gibson House!
During community consultations Menkes proposed paying to move Gibson House a stones through to the south to front on Park Home Ave. It would have been a very visible centre piece on the long park on the north side of Park Home. However, the historical purists would not agree to moving the home so it will remain set back and lost behind the Gibson condos.
Representatives of the Gibson Home also didn't like having the ramp to the underground parking (below the park) too close to them - so this ramp got move from the north east edge of the park to smack dab in the middle of the park off Park Home Ave. So instead of a historical home as the centre piece of the park, we instead get an underground ramp. That's what I call great City Building.

The excavation is so deep now that you cannot see any of the equipment when you drive by on Yonge Street.
It is all well down below grade.

I wonder how the traffic will be when gibson square, hullmark, emerald, pearl 2 and centrium gets built. Getting to hwy 401 will be just crazy....

Can it actually get any worse than it is right now? North York seems to have the worst traffic in the whole GTA.
