They did the cost-benefit analysis and realized that it's far cheaper to hand out rose-colored glasses to all the nay-sayers than to build something beautiful and more than just functional

Most of the time I read a statement like that and worry how things will change for the worse. In this case I can't imagine it getting worse. A pile of dirt would at least look organic.

Yeah, the design feels much more like the intention is to be surrounded by other buildings, so they focused less on a "grand" station and more on a utilitarian one. Though they could at least do something colourful or brick, white is just boring :rolleyes:

Upon taking a closer look at these on my desktop, it does really look like this is designed for integration into a building on the adjacent plot at some point in the future.

You can see the other entrance building in the render looks much more refined and more in line with OL arch standards.

I get the sense that this is an interim condition that will be rebuilt into an entrance through a CF building.

Thanks for pointing out the other entrance. I'm surprised they only showed close-ups of the Eastern Avenue entrance, but given that it will be the "secondary" entrance, with Broadview being the main entrance, the design makes (a little) more sense
