Funny how no one seems to bat an eyelash about the trend that seems to be going on in this area....

Chaz, approval for 32 storeys....c of a to 39....new rezoning to 47
Nicholas, approval for 29....omb to 35
Five, approval for 45....c of a to 50 (pending)

and on and on. i'm not a NIMBY....just saying.
 
These are great areas for intensification, especially Charles East and Grenville Sts., IMO.
 
Yorkville?

If somebody already made this comment I apologize, but how is Charles east of Yonge considered Yorkville?
 
silly made up designations by realtors and marketing to make adjacent areas more appealing.
IMO, Yorkville is north of Bloor and west of Yonge.

Have to agree, the Chaz building isn't being built in Yorkville. If anything, it's in the Church/Wellesly corridor.

Sad about the original Arcade building, but if there was a fire I guess its best that it be replaced, too bad they skimped on the design. Arcade Fire?

Still think Toronto is way too short and density is a must, especially if we're to keep up with the annual influx of people in the city.

If the fire happened these days rather than in the 1950s, it'd be a cue for restoration, not for replacement.
