Sheppard Subway Extension West?

I think having the Sheppard west extension helps for any line 1 commuter north of the line. The delays and issues mostly happen on the yonge side of the line and less on the university side and having a fast connection between them that isn’t bloor helps a lot. Why hasn’t the city ever thought of how they could actually get people on line 4 this way

I think this might happen before we get any kind of eastward expansion.

While I would personally want to see it extended even further west down Sheppard or Wilson, just closing the gap would be huge for redundancy in the system, and would be useful for bypassing whatever seems to happen at the Wilson Yard that delays northbound trains in the morning.

I wouldn't be surprised to see both a westward and eastward extension under the same plan.

If Metrolinx's plans for rapid transit expansion remain the same over the next decade or so, I also wouldn't be surprised to see both extensions as part of their "next phase" of major projects in Toronto.
