Alison Pill, who plays Kim Pine in the film, is a Toronto native and said this about the city:
"I grew up here and I had friends who worked at all of the places. Like the Beguiling, which is a store here, and Suspect Video and one of my friends actually worked at Suspect and The Beguiling." Actually using those landmarks as themselves seemed to surprise her after growing up watching the city used as other locations. "It’s wonderful. It’s amazing. I mean we have such a great music scene and art scene and there’s just a great group of young people, you know, temping their way through their 20’s doing other amazing things. And I’ve been in… I spent like ten years working here without ever having been shooting in Toronto. And it’s so frustrating because it’s a great city. I’m looking forward to actually being able to use it as itself instead of being a bad New York."
a new, full-length trailer is due out in theatres next friday. HOWEVER, if the scott pilgrim facebook page gets 100K fans, the trailer will be released online, EARLY.
I don't like the way that trailer was cut but that is par for the course for movie trailers. A lot of stupid one liners that you just know were not even said after the correct lead in.. however I'm still hyped for it.
Me too. I'm a huge fan of Edgar Wright and he has a great track record so far (Spaced, Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, the "Don't" trailer from "Grindhouse" etc.).
Bryan Lee O'Malley will be attending a midnight SP Vol. 6 release party at The Beguiling, in The Annex, on July 19th. The store is also selling SP merchandise: http://www.beguiling.com/index.php
