Rob Ford's Toronto

Is the Don Bosco coaching jacket a core item to him? They fired / rejected him, so wouldn't he want to monetize that instead? By selling it, it's an excellent "F-U" to the administration and parents who wanted him out - he gets one last benefit out of his connection to the program, and they simply have the shame of having exposed their children to him and his scary / possibly dangerous cronies.

You know, for all that Slob is no longer the Mayor, he's still an elected official, however undeservedly, and, uh, they're not really supposed to perpetuate this kind of sleazy bullshit. Even in this day and age, there are certain standards our politicians are meant to - at the very bare minimum - pretend to live up to. That he's this open and unashamed about it might even be looked upon as almost admirable in a bizarre way, but really, when you get down to it, it's just plain fuckin' gross. Even at this reduced level, it's clear the Ford Family Freakshow continues merrily onwards, with Baron Fattums Von Pigface gleefully thumbing his nose at Toronto as a whole, basic rules/law and order, and, hell, just plain old common decency. And this after everything he's put the city through. It really is repellent.

That's disgusting considering the guy next to him was murdered soon after the picture was taken.

Rob Ford's is now trying to sell his beer mug again.

Unless this is just another, rare, one-of-a-kind 100th Grey Cup commemorative beer mug.

Maybe the original purchaser bailed? He did say they hadn't received any cheques yet so who knows.

Selling his core items does not bode well for the idea he will be long for this world.

Each item *is* something to remember him by, isn't it?
Makes you wonder ...

OTOH, it could be about sobriety and making a new start. The past is the past, folks.

Either way, he seems to be trying to commit the ol' Rofo we know to history.

I'll also bet those items will be worth more to their purchasers than to Renata. :)

yeah, the laundering angle is something I thought of too, especially seeing how high the bids went for some items -- the tie is above $13,000.

He's been wearing the Don Bosco jacket recently, so I'm actually surprised to see that go. With the mug, maybe the winning bidder backed out of paying so that's why it's back up. It's all so bizarre.

he's not "giving" them away, though... he's selling them! ;)
as they say... you can't take it with you (neither the stuff nor the money!)

What about leaving things for people to remember him by? Maybe not the mangy sweatshirt from the 15 Windsor photo, or the PJ pants... but the NFL tie (tacky as it is for some) and maybe the Saskatchewan Roughriders jersey (that says 'Mayor Ford' on the back) -- if he's going to die soon you'd think he'd leave those for his son as mementos.
