Yup...the same people who think the city budget was only written last week.
Just once, I'd like someone to actually call Ford on it when he propagates that story.

MM had said "The source allows for the possibility that they're waiting on a key piece of evidence. If that doesn't pan out, the source agrees that the optics are going to be terrible and the operation will have been a failure..."I tweeted Jennifer Pagliaro and she said "the investigation is on-going." So...yeah.
I may be a cockeyed optimist, but I'd like to think Fords 2010 win was a "perfect storm" of issues that propelled him into office.
This is unfortunately also my takeaway from the Star's article yesterday. They didn't say it in so many words, but to really to nail Ford, TPS really needed wiretaps on Lisi's phone (and therefore his conversations with Ford) on those crucial three days in May. Wiretaps on Lisi didn't begin until much much later. So, ergo, they have nothing and would have to rely on Lisi rolling over. Given the stakes involved, my bet is the Ford family would use both sticks and carrots to make sure this did not happen.
For that reason I am not optimistic.
Just hoping that it's still almost a year away from elections, still plenty of time for RF or DF to fuck up!!
Also, this idea that the majority of Asian voters will automatically vote for someone like Chow simply because she's Chinese, is overly simplistic, not to mention slightly offensive.

As someone on Reddit just pointed out, could the fact that Lisi's bail was only 5 grand be an indication that he's cooperating with the investigation?
My boss is Chinese and she said she, her husband and all her friends voted Ford, because they are all fiscal conservatives. They are not happy with him now due to his shenanigans, but they'll be looking for another fiscal conservative to vote for next election. Don't think that will be Chow. Not to mention false and unsubstantiated.
While Chow may be an easy sell to the first generation Canadians, the older crowd (their parents) who are much more traditional (socially falling very right of centre) are not cheering for Chow by virtue of her heritage.

Rob Ford walks out of budget meeting over tax hike to pay for subway.

Ford claimed the bureaucracy has changed since the mayor’s powers were reduced by council this month.
“It’s so disappointing that in five days, as soon as they reduced my powers, all they’re doing is going back to the old tax-and-spend ways, getting back on the gravy train and spending and spending and spending and spending,” Ford said.
“It’s embarrassing that people of this city have to pay over 2.5 per cent in property taxes when we had it locked in at one and three-quarters. That is absolutely atrocious. And I will not be supporting this budget, I can guarantee it.”
