In the Huffpo photo sequence, there's one of Rob at the podium. On the left, there is Kathy, Diane, and a woman who looks a lot like Renata. Can anyone confirm if Renata was there?

Smith didn't make the video, though. And he was not recorded in any of the conversations about $5,000 and a car.

ETA @sweetlou: just like on a lot of other days.
 
Yeah, almost every reliable source so far has said that Smith's death was not actually related to Rob Ford, except insomuch as some members of Ford's camp mistakenly believed it was and that was what originally lead Mark Towhey to go to Toronto police. I don't know why Smith speculation continues to run rampant except that it's particularly salacious.

If it DOES turn out the police are investigating Smith's death in relation to Ford on the down-low, however, and they sprung that shit out on us at the last second, that would be some truly masterful theatre.

Still begs the question why Rofo specifically mentioned he had nothing to do with the murder if he didn't - when so many times he has denied something just for it to eventually come out to be in fact true????

There is the possibility that Smith's killer *thought* Smith might have the video -- given that he was friends with some of the people who actually were involved. If the video was filmed in mid-February, one can imagine that early and possibly inaccurate rumours started to swirl, and maybe a case of mistaken identity as to who actually had the phone with the vid on it could have occurred. In that case, Smith's murder could be tied to the video, but not through any direct request of Rob Ford. Rather it would be a rival gang who:

a) wanted to take the video to profit/use against the mayor themselves; or
b) wanted to take the video to prevent it being used against the mayor. Drug dealers blackmailing their customers is not good for business, gives the area's other dealers a bad name and might scare off some of their high-profile clients.
 
That article with the photos identified the guy who put the keffiyah on Ford as "Harry Malaui," who it appears is Harry Ziad Malawi.

Folks, nobody has done more for the Jewish community than Rob Ford...
 
I wonder if we hosted an "Anyone But Ford" rally if we could get more people out to THAT than attended his campaign launch last night. We can do it at NPS so RofoDofo can verify the head count...
