Sure there is evidence available both publicly and not that Ford and his family have ties to criminal behaviour and nasty characters. I was talking more about the sort of speculation on these pages that starts with the knowledge that a missing woman's car was found outside a home mentioned in the ITO and immediately casts her as a drug addict or a prostitute. Or that wonders if Ford's new driver might be a drug dealer rather than a security guard. There's no evidence for us to make aspersions about this Alana, except for the uncharitable gossip of a couple young staff, and our belief that Ford is an unattractive immoral creep.

Even if she were a sex worker, so what? It's legal. Let's not judge her, or label her, or make her life more difficult. She may end up getting evicted from wherever she lives as a result for fear of her "running a common bawdy house." There is no reason to drag her into this any more than she already has been by Ford's staffers or the ITO because some jerks (pun intended) get their jollies or because screaming "hooker" headlines sell papers.

Yeah, it sucks that her rep is being dragged through the mud. Meanwhile, people like Kouvalis and Towhey will probably emerge unscathed from this fiasco.

If I'm not mistaken patty posted this here earlier today, and I thought it was great. The more Ford's gravy train can be exposed, the better. People are still defending Ford based on his fiscal record, and that's got to stop. Terrence Corcoran even had the audacity to defend Ford's financials in a recent piece, in which he failed to address/acknowledge arguments against Ford's record. Fortunately Corcoran has been demonstrably wrong in just about every Ford piece he's written.

Anyone remember this gem, where Corcoran's reasoning was wrong on every point? Sure Ford won his appeal, but not because he was "innocent", rather because the COI shouldn't have happened. Hackland, and the appeal judges all agreed Ford was in conflict.
 
An income of 35K doesn't seem low for a bunch of kids with no particular expertise, answering emails in an office where the boss puts in 4 hour days and doesn't expect any real engagement in policy or strategy. In the present economy much of his staff would be stuck in intern hell elsewhere in order to find career track positions. Illustrates Ford's approach to economy, not seeing any value in his staff and going for the cheaper option, only to open the wallet and be spendthrift when his ego or image is on the line.

Jesus, this Alana discussion is bordering on mysogyny here. We don't know anything about this person and we're gawking over photos and calling a perfect stranger a "slut."

I think she's fair game. You don't have to agree with me (but com'on...did you see the same video I did...think I'm making a bad call?)

Besides, it may not be fair, but sometimes you are judged by the company you keep.

It just goes to show how bloody toxic Ford is. Associate with him, and you will end up arrested, beat up, dead, or even possibly called a slut.

Yup. It was frustrating then, and now that you've (we've) been proven right, we aren't even allowed the satisfaction of having those who were wrong apologize and grovel and promise not to vote in future without our permission. This democracy stuff really blows sometimes. To further compound the insult, forum rules prevent me from calling out the specific posters who were wrong and laying into them for their stupidity and worthlessness with language commensurate with the seriousness of their errors.

BTW, none of this is sarcasm/facetiousness, although I can see how it could be interpreted as such.

I agree wholeheartedly with the people saying to back off. It's really not a stretch: you're a model. You're young. You're miss Tourism Toronto. You meet the MAYOR OF THE CITY -- which, no matter how much of a criminal scumbag he is -- how is *she* to know that? The MAYOR OF THE CITY which YOU REPRESENT as Miss Tourism Toronto (which to be fair, I had no idea existed, and would never support -- hey world, here's our hottest woman! Come to Toronto! Like, what?). The MAYOR OF THE CITY says, let's go party. Suddenly, you're partying with the Mayor of the City.

When your job is based upon your association with the city, and the chief magistrate of said city invites you out... show me the young person that would have said "no".

But, and how could she know this, Ford was a walking disaster.

Keep this on Ford.

And for those bored, a much more interesting line of investigation is who are the title holder/owners of Brovi investments, and are Brovi investments part owners of GFL?

This. Plus, LOTS of people have hung out with Ford at parties. It doesn't mean anything, in itself.
