Premier Doug Ford's Ontario

That's not really what's being said above.

Also, Trudeau didn't merely attend, but graduated with degree(s) plural from 2 universities. He had his degree in Literature from McGill and another in Education from UBC.

He's also flawlessly bilingual.

Now, I happen to think he's an intellectual light weight...................

But he's no Doug Ford.
Or a teenage drug dealer who dropped out of both university and then college and has never entered the public job market in his life.

Yeah but my point is there no qualifications to be leader really that was my point and get Trudeau off a prepared speech and his communication skills are non-existent really. I have seen people at my local toastmaster Club have better skills.

Wynne was very intelligent but had no self-awareness about herself to the public.

So my point is yeah Ford has no formal education but being intelligent has nothing to do with being electable these days.

I would argue the only thing that makes the Fords electable is their lack of education and sophistication 😂

Are you one of those people who believes the only valid qualification for being a politician is running a business (successfully or not)?

No but I think the electorate generally does not care how educated a leader is or their experience that much.

Their image and style and voting out the last guy are way more dominant.

LOL. Facts are pesky things.

Born in Ottawa, Trudeau attended Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf, graduated from McGill University in 1994, and then the University of British Columbia in 1998. He has a bachelor of arts degree in literature and a bachelor of education degree. After graduating, he worked as a teacher in Vancouver, British Columbia.

So the local barista at my Starbucks is as educated as our PM but compared to Ford he is a scholar.

I think we all deserve better leaders as a whole.

And a strong populist appeal to the heretofore under-represented, much the same as the leader of the free world. Gulp.

Teachers are leaders, former hash dealers are not. And Doug's communication skills - slightly above Trump's level. Trudeau is an eloquent speaker and is capable of switching flawlessly between French and English. Doug reads his covid-19 speeches from a prepared document, when he goes off script his level of communication drops to idiot level.

Get Trudeau off the prepared speeches the guy is just "ah and ums " and non-stop filler words. An eloquent speaker would be like Obama, Regan and JFK i think lol.

You need to attend your local toastmaster club and need to see actual talented speakers. There is a local champion of ours named Roger Caesar, he owns a Truck company but blows any of our politicians out of the water in speaking.

Yeah, that's why every single businessman running for office mentions the fact that they are one.

Well I think we live in a world where business leaders like Elon Musk, Zuckerburg, Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates are as powerful as nations themselves.

Scary times.

Trudeau is generally a leader due to his image and the legacy and celebrity around his looks and last name and being woke.

I dont think Trudeau is known for his intelligence considering his biggest enemy politically is usually himself doing or saying stupid things.

Like if we compare the intelligence of Trudeau jr compared to Trudeau Sr and Chretien its like Venus and Mars.

So my point remains the education of a leader has no bearing on them electorally.

Naw no need to attend any "club" to know for sure many of us can and are better speakers than Doug. I have spend many days at city hall when Doug was councillor and his mode of communication skills were deplorable and argumentative. Calling people bums, thugs, and lazy bastards and worse. His last communication was less than stellar "suggesting" people on ODSP need to get off their lazy arses and find a job. Doug is an uneducated bully with no comprehension or empathy. Anyone know how his French communication skills are progressing? So my point is that education is important in leadership, as Doug has not shown to be a leader but merely a intimidator and the reason he got elected was because "folks" were dissatisfied with Wynne and the NDP made a huge gamble which backfired. So we are now stuck with the Cons who are really not doing us a favour cancelling important environmental & labour protection laws and working their way up to privatizing services which in the end will cost us more. So far Doug has handled the Covid pandemic well by listening to experts and reads the message from a teleprompter, however "old"Doug is rearing his head by pushing through the "back to school" problem and is unwilling to listen and of course in typical conservative fashion blaming the teachers union.

Sure, but "power" isn't why people vote in businessmen, and you're deflecting. It's wealth (or the appearance of the ability to make it), combined with the idea that somehow government runs better if it's run like a business. Hint; it doesn't, as business is created strictly for the purpose of enriching its creator(s) — the people on top.

As intelligent as Wynne was according to you guys she lacked any political self-awareness and led her party to the worst political defeat in modern Ontario electoral history.

Yes you guys make excuses for it but the reality is a monkey would have likely beaten her and she was likely by far the most educated intelligent premier we likely had.

My point still stands that the education of a leader has zero bearings on their electoral chances. That the key to beating ford is not saying he is not qualified to be Premier as he already has the job. 😂
Its about his record and getting a likeable leader that can rally progressives to one party then splitting the vote.

I think people, in general, want the government to be just efficient in general. In the 80's till about the recession people assumed big business was more efficient than Govt. That thinking has changed to they all are inefficient now.

Regardless of one's opinion that govt should be like a business or a grand socialist entity, for govt to work well for the benefit of all, it needs to be efficient.
