So happy to see Food Truck Eats at MCC! The organizer has had one hell of a hard time organizing them in Toronto, as the city keeps shutting him down. Mississauga had no issue hosting this event. Its sad that Toronto City Hall can't get its act together.

Looks like they are going to build some type of shelter or something on either side of the stage. Both side are different based on the number of supports to be built.

The one thing I would like to see before the new turf is put down, fixing or removing those cover plates in the grass area in front of the stage so people cannot trip over them like they can today. Even with the cones there, not easy to see at night.

The new civic space is nicely configured and landscaped, but the sea of concrete paving probably won't age well. It's also a surprising choice given the Postmodern architecture. I don't get why urban designers don't seem to realize that after the initial years when concrete is new, it just doesn't look very good. It becomes grey and gum-stained. In central European countries, paving of pedestrian areas currently consists of either interlocking pavers or granite blocks everywhere, even at airports and on sidewalks on modest suburban streets.

Sure took them long enough to put that plaque.

Going to be 20 years until some of those trees are big like the ones that got removed.

The City being putting up lights all week.

Ugh... in that case it was a complete waste to build it as a road in the first place. Glad to see it being permanently closed though!

The grass area has been fence off for the past few weeks.

The closing of the road is a good thing and still leaves an option or two down the road to be used for things requiring vehicles to use the area.

The road was given a one year trial use and it has shown the road closure would not have an impact on the road system. Council wanted to close the road last April, but held off tell this year.

Once the roundabout is built at the intersection of Duke of York, traffic will flow a lot better, including the other 2 plan roundabouts.
