Ahem. :)

Then and Now for April 19.

Then. 81 Avenue Road. c1914. Wolseley Motor Car Company. E.J. Lennox, Architect.

They couldn't have sold a high volume of cars, comparatively speaking, to the American makes that were being assembled here in Oshawa (Chevrolet) as early as 1915.

What an amazing link. I could spend hours looking at those photos.

The four Then and Now picture sets dealing with the 1901 Pan American Exposition are cool. Amazing to think that such a large worlds fair happened in our dear neighbour Buffalo so long ago.

No shame in being beaten by the best. :) Thank you k10ery. Still a mystery where the Dharma Centre was. 52. 52 where?

Brewster's two Toronto Archive pictures are somewhat rueful. There's many like them in the Archives that depict a building in its last few days or indeed, day.

I must admit I have a collection of pictures like this taken by myself, for possible use as future Then pictures. Good candidates, besides the obvious hoarded buildings in their last hours of life are older homes on large lots that are for sale...

Then and Now for September 26, 2012.

My last Then and Now for the Lost Ward district. It's amazing what the Toronto General Hospital did in this area over the last hundred years, although one may argue large hospital facilities Trump [oh dear, I did use that word ] an old decrepit neighbourhood located in the central downtown area.

Our own version of Chavez Ravine http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Chavez_Ravine [Yes, I know the circumstances were wholly different. I'm just saying.]

Then. Elizabeth Street W side S from College Street. 1907.
