Is there some kind of fly / bug invasion going on last week or so ?

The flies are bad enough downtown right now. You can only imagine my horror and disgust when I came across this (invasive?) bastard on Queen's Quay by the Redpath Plant. This thing was more crab-sized than bug sized. My guess would be he hitched a ride on a sugar freighter from somewhere tropical.

*Edit: Turns out it is a giant water bug, which has a brutal bite/sting and has no business being on a downtown sidewalk
