Former President Donald Trump's United States of America

My point was that if you shoot a sitting president change will occur.
But not the change that would be meaningful. If you are hoping for any kind of meaningful wide-ranging gun control legislation, don't hold your breath. If shooting 20 children in school, plus six faculty, one of 12 mass shootings in that year, didn't spawn meaningful change, little else would. The only thing that came out of that event was calls for arming faculty (besides the usual nutjobs calling the whole thing a hoax).

Not to sound insensitive but you can take automated weapons and waste everyone in a high school ala columbine but the US so desensitized to mass shootings that nobody will care.

Shoot the president and that carries a bit more weight. It's not every day a sitting head of state gets shot. Americans are a patriotic people and the president is like American Jesus.

If an organization like the NRA were to protest tighter gun laws after a presidential shooting it would be suicide.

Bless the Americans, LOL, once again demonstrating that basic counting is more complicated than it looks!

88% of the vote counted............3 hours after polls close.............

What the ever living...................

In a world where nut-bar things seem to happen more often by the day...............

Republicans in the State Senate of Pennsylvania are refusing to seat a recognized winner Democrat Colleague.

I'm not surprised as they are GOP state senators.

The GOP only believes what they are told by right wing media with everything else being a hoax.

They were told that there was widespread voter fraud so that is what they will believe.

Honestly shocked. Though, Trump was basically campaigning for the Democrats since Nov 3.

Live Updates: House, Senate Recess Electoral Vote Debate As Protesters Force Lockdown of Capitol

From link.

Congress has begun a joint session to count and confirm the Electoral College vote won by Joe Biden.

The typically routine proceeding is expected to be anything but. With supporters of President Donald Trump gathering around the Capitol, more than a dozen Republican senators and more than 100 Republican House members have said they will object to the count from as many as six battleground states. They are echoing Trump’s false claims of widespread fraud.

Their efforts are almost certain to fail as many Republicans have said they will oppose the objections. But the session is expected to last into the night on Wednesday as the House and Senate must consider each objection separately and vote on whether to sustain it.

Vice President Mike Pence will preside over the session. He has no power to overturn the results, despite pressure from Trump to do so.

Biden won the Electoral College 306-232. He is set to be inaugurated Jan. 20.

Here's the latest in the political showdown:

Senate in Recess as Protesters Enter the Capitol Building

The Senate has recessed its debate over an objection to the results of the Electoral College after protesters forced police to lock down the building.

Reporters were told to stay in the Senate’s press gallery as the doors were locked.

Protesters tore down metal barricades at the bottom of the Capitol’s steps and were met by officers in riot gear. Some tried to push past the officers who held shields and officers could be seen firing pepper spray into the crowd to keep them back.

The skirmishes came just shortly after President Donald Trump addressed thousands of his supporters, riling up the crowd with his baseless claims of election fraud.

Police Order Evacuation of Congressional Buildings on Hill as Protesters Breach Capitol Steps

The U.S. Capitol Police are evacuating some congressional office buildings as thousands of pro-Trump demonstrators stormed barricades set up outside the U.S. Capitol complex.

Police told congressional staff members they should evacuate the Cannon House Office Building and the building that houses the Library of Congress. It wasn’t immediately clear what specifically sparked the evacuation.

A police spokeswoman did not immediately respond to calls and emails seeking comment.

Thousands of people have descended on the U.S. Capitol as Congress is expected to vote to affirm Joe Biden’s 2020 presidential win. Videos posted online showed protesters fighting with U.S. Capitol Police officers as police fired pepper spray to keep them back.

The protesters breached the police line around the East Front of the Capitol and have crowded on the building's steps.

This is hilarious to watch. So much for the party of Law and Order. Unbelievable. But sure Black Lives Matter is the problem.
