Wellesley Convenience is returning though. They have a banner up and it looked like they're prepping the inside.

I read today that Statler's closed. Feels like there won't be anything left by the end of the year at this rate.

Fire at Radio City, south tower floor 26. Fire confined to one unit that broke around 4am this morning, no injuries. .

I think the Hero Burger is toast now too. The sign is still up on the wooden construction cladding, but there are no signs of life inside the store. When I went past there today someone was using the entryway as their home.

Tried to go to Fresh Burger for lunch today and it too was closed. No sign indicating why... Didn't see anything about being behind in the rent, etc.

Edit: Their Facebook page says they closed March 1.

There's getting to be a lot of empty storefronts along the street now. I don't know if Hero Burger would be coming back either; there doesn't seem to be any work being done inside to repair whatever damage happened.

It would be really nice to see that corner be a coffee shop again. I almost don't care if its a chain either.

Yet it doesn't look like there's any work being done in there.

I saw junk removal people at Statler's earlier this week, and there's some work lights on inside Cumbrae's and the old Eyes on Church. I'm trying not to get my hopes up...

I forgot to look to see if there's been any changes at the Fresh Burger space.

Hero Burger @ Yonge & Irwin has been closed for a few months now and it also has 'under reno' signs up but no sign of work being done.

And it seems somebody has added some joy to the Alexander Wood statue. ?
