Could be a positive change to the 'hood. Lots in the community are angry at the school board for putting the land up for sale. The local trustee has been MIA, not communicating at all with anyone about the process. People are frustrated.

Apparently two other school boards have put in bids on the property, so it may stay educational in some way.

Since this has become a catch-all for bloordale and bloorcourt (The Common, Ella's Uncle, and Rustic Owl are all in Bloorcourt not Bloordale). Worth noting is a second story is going on top of the old Postal Outlet on Dovercourt. This will house the new headquarters of a TV production company (I believe they produce reality TV shows like Master chef Canada?) At any rate we are talking about 80-100 employees moving to Bloordale-Bloorcourt. Great for local businesses.

There have been so many changes in the neighbourhood, but if this info is correct, then Freed just bought the Galleria Mall at Dupont/Dufferin (as well as other properties close by). Big development being proposed.

4 million square feet?! Wow. There would need to be some serious transit upgrades to make that possible. The Dufferin bus is already sufferin' enough as it is, or so I hear from people who ride it.
