First thing I thought of as well. It's a mini trump tower lobby. Podium exterior looks very good though.

    2018 Ontario Provincial Election Discussion

I think you mean if an election were held last November. Old poll.

Floor 2 in some parts, finishing 1st floor in most parts. That was last week though, I don't live near it anymore so don't see it as often.

    Toronto skyline

A couple from the weekend from my new apartment. Not the best, just cell pics with zoom, so pretty fuzzy.

    Toronto Berczy Park Revitalization | ?m | ?s

As far as manhole covers go, those are gorgeous. We can't get rid of telephone poles, so something that nice is a long ways off. If they could just make some dog/cat themed ones for this park - and maybe for use in/near other dog parks, that would be incredible.

Other cities? You can find them here. You don't even have to go too far. This one is literally across the street on the NE corner of the hummingbird centre.

why new condos have a bad architecture ?

What's the psf cost to buy a condo in one of the examples of architecture you posted that you like, versus the condos you don't like in TO? Off the top of my head, that may be a reason for 'less' architecture in many of our examples. Seems to me, if we have a more expensive building (The One, 1...

What Toronto neighbourhoods had the best ROI in the last 20 years?

My parents bought in 1971 and still own the house, it is worth approx. 60 times more than they bought it for. Not sure what that works out to but I'd guess it's higher than inflation. A lot higher. Granted these are also Toronto's greatest years for expansion, but it appears its been the norm...

Do you think Scarborough will shake off its negative reputation any time in the near future?

Agreed on Vic Park to Birchmount - there's at least 7 condos being built now in this stretch. In 5-6 years when all of them are done (and more proposed) there should be enough people to keep Kingston road (east and west of VP) more vibrant and with better shopping/eating options. You can also...

Do you think Scarborough will shake off its negative reputation any time in the near future?

I'd say it does. It's not a half, more like a sliver. But virtually everything south of Kingston Road in Scarborough is higher end housing.

Do they still do Woofstock in the St Lawrence market area? IIRC they moved it. They really need to bring it back and host it in this park. This thing looks so awesome I'm going to drive in from Scarborough just so my dog (OK, me) can see it in person once it's done........

    Toronto Ridiculous NIMBYism thread

In 5-10 years they won't have this issue here. The area isn't necessarily being gentrified, but the demographic is definitely changing. I have two buddies on this street. The area's 50-50 with seniors and young families. As more seniors move on, it will be all young families and they'll be...
