    2022/24 Russian-Ukrainian War

If Russia can’t stamp this out in short order I think it’s over for Putin. And based on how things are going right now it might be over for Putin.

Page 1000 and post 15,000. Two major milestones at basically the same time!

Agree 100% it makes zero sense to me. Especially when they did so good with heritage restoration. I don’t even care about the towers but im hoping for a podium reclad in 10 years

    Toronto 83 Bloor West | 260.25m | 77s | Parallax | Arcadis

I’m hoping for some significant changes here. I would not lose any sleep over a total redesign of this project.

    Kitchener Civic 66 | ?m | 11s | Killam REIT | ABA

As far as precast and infill projects go, I actually really like this one.

    Toronto Nobu Residences Toronto | 156.66m | 45s | Madison Group | Teeple Architects

The density here is the only thing this area has going for it.

It’s nice having buildings on various angles. Shame the city said no to the kingsett project that wasn’t perfectly aligned with the streetwall.

Currently the smoke is primarily from northern Ontario and Quebec, cmac is right. I don’t profess to know much about air and wind patterns I’m just going off of the weather network.

Mississauga Square One District Phase One | ?m | 52s | Oxford Properties | Arcadis

That cladding is looking better than I was expecting.

    Toronto Artists' Alley | 121.91m | 39s | Lanterra | Hariri Pontarini

Was literally about to write the exact same thing. Not only that but the black building in the foreground of the above photos pops too. Even a few more mediocre towers with colour would do a lot to improve the overall appearance of the skyline.

From a distance these look better than most of what’s around them. That’s not a high bar but the final product doesn’t look too when you’re not up close to see the full extent of the cheapening. This development is being carried by the fact that it has very good massing and overall design, so...

That 3rd design does look pretty cool ngl. Hopefully this is still high quality regardless of what we’re getting.

Somehow I’ve held off on commenting since the cladding has been unveiled. At first it’s because I was slightly disappointed in the colour, then I wanted to reserve my judgement and then I was just busy and felt way too late to the party. I still think I would’ve like this to be slightly more...

So I did actually get one low quality shot of this last night, in the dark. I guess the one good thing you can say about the photo is that building looks much less oppressive thanks to the fact that it’s soulless black form lends itself to the darkness of night.

Now for nighttime shots on my new iPhone. These are not touched up at all and I’m really impressed tbh.
