Toronto Festival Tower and tiff Bell Lightbox | 156.96m | 42s | Daniels | KPMB

You make it sound like it's on the other side of the city. It's at King and John. You can get there from Yorkville by transit in 15-20 minutes max. If that's too far for you to travel on a regular basis than you must live in a pretty small bubble.

Wow, this shot would make a great desktop image. Any idea where I could find a higher resolution version?

There has already been a ton of development around the Yonge & College/Carlton area, including Radio City, the Met & Encore, RoCP 1 & 2, Murano and Lumiere. Plus Burano and, or course Aura, are now under construction, and it looks like a condo will be sprouting up just south of MLG on Church...

    Church-Wellesley Village

As much as it pains me to see such a large, vacant space on Church I can't help but feel it's a little bit of karma for the greedy landlords that forced out Zelda's. As for Flash, isn't there a moratorium on new dance floors in the village? I've also heard that there will be strippers but I...

Great news, now let's get the shovels in the ground.

    Toronto Bike Share

I'm glad to hear that major expansion could occur relatively quickly. With that in mind my concern is that with such a limited area they may not sell enough memberships to get it off the ground to begin with.

    Toronto Bike Share

I just took a look at the Bixi site and I'm very disappointed with the coverage area. It should, at the very least, stretch north to Dupont, east to Broadview and west to Dufferin. As it stands it's limited to areas around the downtown subway stations. This is an area that is very convenient to...

    Church-Wellesley Village

I've heard that it's going to be a complex with several levels like Sky in Montreal, minus the rooftop patio unfortunately.

New York Magazine: BRT is the future for NYC?

Thanks for posting this. It's very interesting. Unfortunately Toronto's narrow streets make this sort of thing much more of a challenge to implement. I am hopeful that POP all-door level boarding with the new streetcars will speed things up though.

Silhouette...because...uh...it will look good in silhouette.

Actually there's a sign in the window at the Star of Downtown announcing that a branch of the Yonge Street Mission is moving in. But that's probably not the kind of thing you were hoping for!

    Toronto CrystalBlu Condos | ?m | 36s | Bazis | Burka

Hendrix, while I agree that the two projects are decent enough, that "Russian gulag-type architecture" (I assume you're referring to Manulife Centre) kicks the crap out of both of them.

    Toronto 50 at Wellesley Station | 114.9m | 37s | Plaza | BDP Quadrangle

Actually that would make sense since they haven't announced a project yet and they were denied permission to turn it into a parking lot.

There's activity on the site today. An excavator is digging out all the leftover rubble.

Actually there's already a high-rise in St. Jamestown called The Toronto. I'm not sure how much trademark law applies to buildings and it's certainly not the most flattering building to bear our city's name, but there you go.

Toronto Five St Joseph | 160.93m | 48s | Five St. Joseph | Hariri Pontarini

I don't buy that there are no fruit markets on Yonge Street because the rent is too high. There's one in the village, and the rent there is much, much higher.

It looks great from every other side but what the hell were they thinking with the east-facing side? And since it faces Yonge a lot of people are going to see it.
