I think you need to sober up, dude. Toronto was pretty lame in the 90s: http://www.blogto.com/city/2011/01/toronto_of_the_1990s/
But the city was far worse in the 70s: http://www.blogto.com/city/2011/10/that_time_when_toronto_was_a_city_of_parking_lots/
Beautiful shot, tomms! You're just about the only person who can restore my faith in the beauty of Toronto whenever we receive a blow from someone like Joan Didion.
Also, does anyone know the vintage of that white building across the street? Is it old to begin with?
Yes, that might be true about other cities, but public works projects move at a snail's pace in Toronto. Do I even need to bring up the St. Clair streetcar project?
Wow, I didn't realize that you were a student, too. I was under the impression that you were some masterful architecture student at U of T. Really, it's absolutely amazing - a million times better than the dreck they have at City Hall!
In a city where the car takes precedence over the pedestrian, and cracked concrete sidewalks line our downtown streets, why abhor an abundance of wooden telephone poles? Although these poles are seen by many as indicative of Toronto's decrepit, antiquated infrastructure, others chose to view...
All of these projects are too convoluted; mine requires two steps:
1. Burn down Toronto.
2. Have Bjarke Ingels rebuild Toronto à la Loop City.

See? Brilliant!
