yup soon to be another RBC or Shoppers no doubt!Like this one??
Does anyone have any news, a sign of life, a tiny morsel that indicates that the South Yonge Street BIA's proposal isn't dead? Or... is south Yonge Street just going to make due with the piecemeal, directionless remainders garnered from the developers building there? No master plan, no scraps allocated to pedestrian traffic? No nothing? Perhaps the ridiculous crane atop the L Tower can be moved to the median at the centre of Yonge and College as a monument to Toronto's forward thinking planners.
Thank you ADRM and Northernlight. I don't see Downtown Yonge in the budget. North York's "Downtown Yonge" is mentioned though. Perhaps the downtown section is getting funded solely by the BIA? At any rate the proposal is moribund. As I predicted would happen. I think the resistance to getting public realm projects done readily stems from lack of adaquate representation of the downtown wards on city council.

Page 30, roughly in the middle, listed as "Lower Yonge"
Years 2021-2024, total budget, $100M
Are they rolling up some non-roads infrastructure upgrades into that number (i.e. sewers, watermains, other servicing, etc.)? Otherwise, I'm having a tough time imagining how they get to $100M based on costs related to expanding sidewalks, pavers, road marking and signage changes, etc.
Can I assume heated sidewalks aren’t in the plan?
