Yonge St south of Bloor: Will it become more upscale?

Is a la turque still there on Church? I loved their food, very fresh... and lovely people!

It is, but they suddenly have loads of competition. There's a new shawarma place across the street, plus now a third Ghazale location on Wellesley St E.

They make the best chicken Shawarma in Toronto. (the biggest too)

I actually find the stretch just south of the bloor not very un-upscale. It's really when you get closer to welsley when you run into more of the gift shops + tattoo parlors.
